Abstract

The result of gravity measurement in the studied area, which is mainly covered by ophiolite, has an anomaly value of ranging from -8 to 86 mgal. Geological and tectonical development of the area have similarities with the east arm of Sulawesi. The presence of hydrocarbon in the Batui quadrangle might be possible to be preserved in this region. Interpretation of the anomaly patterns, subsurface profile models, including the geological structures depict the geological processes, tectonics and its relationship with natural resources. The qualitative analysis results of residual and Bouguer anomalies indicate that the structures in the researched area mainly have northwest - southeast and southwest – northeast directions. Meanwhile, the quantitative analyses of three subsurface model profiles show the presence of two kinds of sedimentary rock with the density of 2.20 gr/cc and 2.35 gr/cc. Keywords : gravity, hydrocarbon deposit, Bouguer anomaly, Kendari

Abstract

The result of gravity measurements in the studied area, which is mainly covered by volcanic rocks, have an anomaly valueranging from-13 to 44 mgal. Geologic and tectonical development of the area may still be active until recently(?). For this reason, The Geological Survey Institute conducted detailed gravity study to delineate this possibility moreaccurately.  The hydrocarbon reserve had ever been exploitated by the Dutch Government from  the Cipluk field, southern of Kendal city and already been closed in 1930.From this fact, other areas In the northen part of this Quadrangle is potential for the hydrocarbon resource. The southern part of Ungaran Mountain may also potensial for the geothermal resource. The qualitative analysis of the anomaly patterns, subsurface profile  models including the geological structures reflects the geological processes, tectonics and Its  relationship with natural resources. The qualitative analysis on residual and Bouguer anomalies indicates that the structures in the study area have mainly east –west and north south directions.                                       Keywords: gravity, magnet, Bouguer anomaly, structures,Semarang

Abstract

Analysis of Bouguer anomaly data in Sinabang Quadrangle produced a subsurface geological structure model including the configuration of basements of continental and oceanic crusts. Intrepretation of the anomaly patterns, the subsurface profile models including the geological structures depict the geological proseses, tectonics and its relationships with natural resources and tectonic earthquake. The qualitative analyses results of residual and Bouguer anomalies indicate that the structures in the researched area generally have northwest - southeast and southwest - northeast directions. Meanwhile the quantitative analysis shows the presence of two kinds of sedimentary rock with the density of 2.20 gr/cm-3  and 2.35 gr/cm-3  . Keywords : gravity, geological structure, earthquake, Sinabang

Abstract

Regionally, tectonics of the Medan Quadrangle is occupied by mountainous and back-arc basin zones. Mountainous zone occupies the southwestern of the quadrangles, and is situated in the northwestern part of Kabanjahe, having Bouguer anomaly ranges from -70 to 0 mgals. Zone of back-arc basin occupying more than 50% of the area extends to the east into the Malacca Strait, having Bouguer anomaly ranges from 0 until +20 mgals. The qualitative and quantitative of Bouguer and residual anomalies represent numerous shapes of anticlinal and synclinal structure including faulting system having direction of northwest - southeast. Keywords : mountainous, back-arc basin, Malacca Strait, subsurface structure, Bouguer anomaly
