Abstract

Hidup adalah pilihan, termasuk peran apa yang akan kita pilih dalam mengisi hidup ini, itu sepenuhnya terserah kita. Tetapi terkadang hidup ini kejam, karena seringkali kita dihadapkan kepada pilihan yang semuanya tidak menyenangkan bagi kita. Seperti halnya yang dialami oleh istri yang bekerja sebagai PSK, mereka harus menjalankan dua status yang saling berlawanan. Sebagai seorang isteri, mereka dituntut untuk bertingkah laku layaknya ibu rumah tangga lainnya. Sedangkan sebagai PSK ia harus bertingkah laku seperti PSK pada umumnya. Apa yang dilakukannya pada saat menjadi ibu rumah tangga sangat bertolak belakang dengan apa yang dilakukannya pada saat mereka menjadi PSK. Ketidakselarasan antara dua peran yang harus dijalankan oleh isteri yang juga PSK telah memicu ketegangan psikologis dalam diri mereka. Ketegangan psikologis tersebut harus mereka atasi agar mereka tetap bisa menjalankan kehidupannya. Ketegangan psikologis dan cara-cara para PSK untuk meredakannya merupakan hal unik dan menarik untuk yang menjadi fokus dari penelitian ini. Secara lebih spesifi k, permasalahan psikologis istri yang juga sebagai PSK akan digali melalui proses belajar, dan keselarasan serta ketidakselarasan konsep diri dalam kehidupannya.

Abstract

Life is choice, including the role that we choose to fulfill our live. Sometimes, life is very cruel when most of the time we are forced to take bad decisions, simply because any better options are unavailable. The life of wives who also work as prostitutes is an example of how cruel life really is. They must live their lives in two different characters, as a wife as well as a prostitute. The first requires them to behave the same as the common wives used to behave, and the latter forces them to act similar to all prostitutes used to act. Therefore, what they have to do as wives contradicts to what they have do as prostitutes. Thus, it leads them to have a psychological strain in their lives. As life must go on, they must also figure out ways to undertake the strain. The psychological strain and the ways taken to loose the strain are unique and interesting. Therefore, this research will be focused on both subjects. In the more specific points, the psychological problems of wives who also work as prostitutes will be elaborated further in the process of learning and synchronizing the live concept of those women.
