Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Stone Geology Structure of Ciremai Mountain West Jawa. A Middle to LateMiocene rocks association around the Ceremai Volcano, namely the Cinambo, Cantayanand Bantarujeg Formations is a deep marine sediment that physiographically belongs tothe Bogor Zone. As a submarine fan system, this turbidite sediment has already progradedto the north. The provenance of sediments is a landmass that occupied the southern partof the deep basin. Shallowing of the basin during Late Tertiary is roled by Plioceneclaystone forming of the Subang, Kaliwangu and Citalang Formations. The claystonewas deposited in a middle neritic to fluviatile environment. During the early Quaternarytime the deep basin has totally become a landmass and the building of Ceremai Volcanowas started. The difference kind of rocks will influence chemical composition of soil,and the diversity of vegetation is possibly implied by this phenomenon.Key words: stone. structure, geology, ciremai

Abstract

Secara stratigrafi, meskipun dengan perubahan tegak yang berangsur, lapisan batupasir kuarsa yang berkembang pada runtunan paling bawah Formasi Wonosari dapat dipisahkan dengan lapisan batugamping yang menutupinya. Sejarah sedimentasi selama Miosen Tengah ini, meskipun hanya setempat, akan memperkaya informasi keragaman geologi (geodiversity) daerah Gunung Sewu bagian barat dari aspek litologi.  Berdasarkan metoda jejak belah yang menggunakan zirkon sebagai mineral penentu umur mutlak batuan, batupasir kuarsa di Wediwutah dan Gombang masing-masing berumur 12,6 ± 1,2 juta tahun dan 24,3 ± 2,9 juta tahun. Terkait dengan identifikasi batuan sumber (provenance) dari kuarsa tersebut, pendugaan awal yang sifatnya masih hipotesis mengarah pada dua sumber yang berbeda, yaitu dari tuf Formasi Oyo dan tuf Formasi Semilir.

Abstract

Sadeng valley or ancient river of Sadeng had head water at surrounding Giriwoyo, Wonogiri. Baturetno basin spread outs widely at the south of Wonogiri. When the Old Lawu Mountain erupted, the volcanic products flowed and blocked the Solo River caused big flooding that covered the Baturetno basin. At any time the river might cut the volcanic block, big flooding happed in the valley of the Solo River. As the result, floras and faunas which lived in the valley were got dead. In the next flooding their skeleton were transported and deposited at the Solo terrace. Such things were happened many times. Animal fossils and homonids could possibly much more abundance in the older terraces rather than in the younger one.Key words: Sadeng Valley, Beturetno Basin, Bengawan Solo Terraces, relationship
