Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) as an effort to strengthen religious literacy among adolescents in the contemporary era. Adolescents today face rapid globalization, digital transformation, and cultural shifts that influence their understanding and practice of religion. These conditions create both opportunities and challenges for PAI in nurturing balanced personal development that integrates knowledge, faith, and moral values. Using a systematic literature review (SLR) approach, this research analyzed relevant studies published from 2018 to 2024 focusing on strategies, methods, and innovations in enhancing religious literacy among youth. The findings reveal that PAI contributes significantly to improving adolescents’ cognitive understanding of religion while also fostering ethical awareness and spiritual resilience. Innovative strategies such as contextual learning, digital-based approaches, and value-oriented pedagogy were identified as effective in strengthening religious literacy. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of these efforts depends on several factors, including teachers’ digital competencies, institutional support, and active engagement of students in meaningful learning activities. The novelty of this study lies in highlighting the importance of integrating PAI with technological advancement and character-building approaches to ensure its relevance in the digital era. This research concludes that strengthening religious literacy through PAI must be carried out holistically by combining knowledge, practice, and values to prepare adolescents as morally responsible individuals capable of making positive contributions to society.

Abstract

This research is motivated by issues in human resource (HR) management in Islamic educational institutions, which still face challenges in aspects of planning, competency development, and the integration of Islamic values into managerial practices. Many Islamic educational institutions do not yet have a directed, sustainable HR management system that aligns with the demands of the modern era, resulting in low professionalism among educators and overall institutional effectiveness. This study uses a library research method by analyzing literature related to modern HR management theory, particularly Gary Dessler's theories, and linking them to management principles from an Islamic perspective. The findings indicate that effective HR planning, sustainable development strategies, and the integration of Islamic spiritual values are key factors in improving the performance of Islamic educational institutions. In addition, the application of the strategic human resource management concept combined with the values of trustworthiness, justice, and excellence can create a professional, ethical, and quality-oriented management system. The implications of this research emphasize that Islamic educational institutions need to develop a human resource management model based on Islamic values that is adaptive to changes in the times, in order to produce educators who are not only academically competent but also possess high moral and spiritual integrity.

Abstract

advancement and the preservation of humanistic and ethical values in education. The research aims to analyze strategic efforts to integrate digital transformation into PAI learning while maintaining its moral, spiritual, and character-building orientation. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods by reviewing scholarly books, journal articles, and relevant academic documents. Data were analyzed through content analysis involving data reduction, thematic categorization, interpretation, and conceptual synthesis. The findings indicate that the reactualization of PAI requires pedagogical integration of digital technology, adaptive curriculum development, strengthening of educators’ digital competencies, cultivation of digital ethics among learners, and holistic evaluation emphasizing cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions. These strategies demonstrate that technology should function as an educational instrument supporting value formation rather than replacing human interaction in learning. The study implies that philosophical and ethical guidance is essential to ensure that digital-based PAI learning contributes to holistic human development and remains aligned with the fundamental goals of Islamic education.

Abstract

Education is a fundamental right of every learner and an obligation in Islamic teachings aimed at developing human potential comprehensively. However, the phenomena of student transfers (mutasi) and school dropouts remain serious issues in the education sector, affecting the continuity of the learning process and the future of young generations. This study aims to examine the phenomena of student transfers and dropouts from the perspective of Islamic education and to formulate appropriate strategies for addressing them based on Islamic values. The research method used is library research by reviewing various relevant sources, including the Qur’an, Hadith, academic books, and previous studies. The findings indicate that transfers and dropouts are influenced by economic limitations, low learning motivation, lack of family support, and unsupportive social environments. In Islam, every child has the right to receive an education, and school dropout is a condition that contradicts the principle of the obligation to seek knowledge. Islamic values such as ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood), family responsibility, social justice, and the spirit of learning as an act of worship serve as the foundation for preventive efforts. The strategies proposed include preventive approaches such as strengthening family-based education, fostering Islamic character, and creating a religious school environment, as well as curative approaches including Islamic counseling, adaptation support for transferred students, and social assistance through zakat, infaq, and sadaqah. Therefore, an integrative approach grounded in Islamic teachings is required to effectively and sustainably address these issues.

Abstract

This study aims to examine effective strategies for fostering positive behavior in early childhood by placing the family as the primary microsystem in Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Theory. This study uses a literature review method by analyzing various relevant scientific sources related to the role of the family in shaping early childhood behavior, particularly in the context of interactions within the family microsystem. The results of the review show that the formation of positive behavior in children is influenced by several key factors, namely parental role modeling, structured daily routines, effective communication, positive reinforcement, clear rules, involving children in family activities, and supervision of digital media. All of these strategies form a consistent proximal process so that children are able to internalize moral, social, and emotional values through daily interactions. Role modeling becomes the main foundation for character building, while routines and rules support the development of self-control. Warm communication creates a sense of emotional security, and positive reinforcement increases a child's motivation to repeat good behavior. It can be concluded that the formation of positive behavior in early childhood is the result of ongoing interactions within the family system. The integration of various parenting strategies within the family microsystem creates an ecological environment that supports child development, not as a single process, but as an interrelated and continuous process.

Abstract

The main problem is that educational practices tend to prioritize cognitive development over character and spiritual formation, resulting in a gap between the ideal concept of nafs in Islamic teachings and its implementation in addressing students’ moral challenges. This research is motivated by the importance of understanding the concept of nafs in the Qur’an and the thoughts of islamic scholars as a basis for shaping the character of students in Islamic education. The main issues addressed are how the concept of nafs is understood from the perspective of Islamic psychology, how the classification and dynamics of nafs shape personality, and how its relevance contributes to the formation of students' character. This study aims to analyze the concept of nafs, identify its classifications and developmental dynamics, and examine its implications in Islamic education. The method used is qualitative research with a literature study approach through the analysis of various relevant classical and contemporary sources. The results of the study indicate that nafs is the center of human personality, possessing spiritual, psychological, and moral dimensions, and is classified into nafs ammarah, nafs lawwamah, and nafs mutmainnah. The dynamics of the nafs are flexible and can develop through self-development processes and educational processes. In addition, the concept of nafs has strong relevance in shaping students' character through habituation, role modeling, reinforcement of spiritual values, and self-control-based evaluation. The implications of this study indicate that integrating the concept of nafs in Islamic education can produce a more holistic learning approach, thereby producing students who are not only intellectually smart but also emotionally and spiritually mature.

Abstract

The main problem in this research is how to strengthen the implementation of Islamic Religious Education so that it remains relevant and is able to shape the moral character and social concern of students amidst contemporary social changes influenced by globalization and digitalization. This study aims to analyze strategies for grounding Islamic Religious Education within social realities through a conceptual approach oriented toward integrating religious values with community life practices. The research employs a qualitative approach using a library research design that draws upon various scholarly sources, including books, journal articles, and relevant academic documents. Data were collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using descriptive-analytical methods involving data reduction, data presentation, and conceptual interpretation. The findings indicate that the implementation of Islamic Religious Education can be strengthened through contextualizing learning materials, reinforcing reflective-dialogical approaches, integrating digital and social literacy, applying social experience–based learning, promoting educators’ role modeling, strengthening universal humanitarian values, and implementing practice-based social evaluation. These strategies enable religious education to be understood not merely as the transfer of normative knowledge, but as a process of value internalization that influences social behavior. This study underscores the importance of developing adaptive, humanistic, and socially relevant approaches to religious education in response to modern societal developments.
