Abstract

Abstract: Indonesia have various kind of culture and art. It is unfortunate if the art is getting faded and the risk of being lost if not preserved and developed in accordance with the development of the era. From the issue planning and designing Jakarta Grand Theatre and Exhibition is urgently required to preserve and redevelop the national art and culture. The need of appropriate facilities to use in  performances events and exhibition by nationally and internationally as well as a social space for people to be one of the main reasons to the design. The main problem is: how to express the art and the movement of the era could be translated and implemented in design through high tech architecture. The method used is the method of architectural design. The result is an expression of the development of technology and applications that adapt to the local potential and the concept of artistic expression. So the design is shown to give the impression of the development of Indonesian art that follows the development of technology. Keywords: Grand Theatre, Theatre, Exhibition, High-tech Architecture
