Abstract

Garbage is still an environmental problem in various parts of the world, including Indonesia. Garbage can come from households, which are always produced every day. Household waste, namely waste originating from bathrooms, kitchens, washing water, used household waste, and human waste. The purpose of this research is to explain the effect of household waste on environmental health and how to handle it. This research shows that there are many negative impacts caused by household waste. Waste that is not managed properly will have a negative impact on the environment so that the environment becomes polluted.

Abstract

Water hyacinth is an aquatic weed whose life cycle is floating in waters or raising roots in mud in shallow waters. The purpose of this water hyacinth itself is to be able to minimize abandoned plant gardens on Lake Toba, so that water hyacinth in the area grows to be more useful, both for the environment and for society. This study uses literature studies, the object of this research is information systems and previous research related to the phenomena discussed, this aims to develop solutions and related problems. The results showed that organic fertilizer from water hyacinth has the potential to improve the household and community economy. This organic fertilizer can also help reduce the population of wild water hyacinth plants in Lake Toba. Processing methods for organic fertilizer from water hyacinth include picking, grinding, microdeck sowing, and decomposition. Implementation of this activity can provide benefits such as reducing the use of chemical fertilizers and increasing soil fertility. Liquid organic fertilizer from water hyacinth contains important nutrients such as nitrogen which can help plant growth. The use of organic fertilizer from water hyacinth can also contribute significantly to the length of plant cobs. In addition, composting water hyacinth can produce organic fertilizers that can be used by farmers as an alternative to chemical fertilizers. The use of water hyacinth as organic fertilizer has the potential to improve the economy of the people in the Lake Toba Region. However, this application also faces certain constraints and challenges. Therefore, policy recommendations and actions need to be taken to facilitate the sustainable use of water hyacinth organic fertilizer and contribute to improving the economy of the people in the Lake Toba Region.

Abstract

Waste can form as long as tofu processing is still running. Waste that is not disposed of properly can pollute the environment (Indah et al., 2014). This also occurs in the tofu manufacturing factory located in the Tanjung Morawa area, or more precisely Jalan Sultan Serdang, where tofu waste is available in solid and liquid forms. The froth that forms when washing soybeans is known as solid waste. The remaining pulp is usually called tofu dregs; However, when washing tofu, liquid waste is produced. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of liquid waste in tofu factories on environmental pollution in Kec. Tanjung Morawa to clarify the entire scope of the problem. This study uses a qualitative description approach, which assists in providing information, facts, and data. The research technique used was by interviewing and documenting the tofu factory workers. According to a study of liquid waste at the tofu factory on Jalan Sultan Serdang, Tanjung Morawa District, it has positive and negative impacts. Tofu Solid Waste has a good impact because it can be sold to cattle breeders to be processed into animal feed. Of course this will increase the income of the owner of the Tofu Business, but the negative impact will be pollution of water sources. This is because the liquid waste from the tofu industry is discharged directly into large trees which then flow into the river. There is a possibility that an unpleasant odor will be produced if it is not processed properly and disease will occur in workers due to the incomplete PPE used.

Abstract

AMDAL dalam pengelolaan lingkungan untuk mencegah kehancuran lingkungan kemudian dapat merawat ketentraman dan keamanan masyarakat disekitar pembangunan, serta mengutamakan pinjaman serasi dengan tugas yang harus dikerjakan. Dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 32 Tahun 2009 mengatur bahwa pembangunan yang dilaksanakan harus memperhatikan lingkungan hidup. Kebijakan pengelolaan lingkungan hidup tertuang tentang Perlindungan dan Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mempelajari lebih jauh tentang posisi AMDAL dalam kebijakan pengelolaan lingkungan di Indonesia. Untuk menemukan analisis mengenai dampak lingkungan dalam kebijakan dan pengelolaan lingkungan di Indonesia penelitian ini menggunakan metode Studi Literatur dengan menggabungkan beberapa kajian sebelumnya. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Selain itu, penerapan analisis dampak lingkungan juga merupakan sistem yang menjaga stabilitas lingkungan hidup. Selain itu posisi AMDAL dalam pengelolaan dan strategi lingkungan sungguh penting sebab ialah alat perlawanan pencemaran yang menetapkan kualitas lingkungan melewati prosedur kajian dokumen seperti AMDAL dan UKL-UPL.

Abstract

Lake Toba has a surface area of ​​approximately 1,132 km2 with a maximum depth of 529 m. Floating net cages (KJA) have a positive path as well as a negative path like two sides of a coin. In its development, the use of Lake Toba by the surrounding community has brought Lake Toba to various environmental problems. floating net cages (KJA) is an environmental management issue in Haranggaol District. Lake water quality has decreased due to residual fish feed (pellets) in the waters of Lake Toba caused by sedimentation of pollutants from domestic waste and food waste. This study aims to find out the benefits and impacts of floating net cage cultivation with the help of existing research works. This study used the literature review method found in the Google Scolar database. The results of this study are (KJA) as a source of income for the community and local revenue (PAD), but (KJA) as a very serious threat to the environmental ecosystem of Lake Toba considering the chemical pollution from fish feed in the KJA. The positive impact of the existence of (KJA) is that it can improve the economy in the people of Haranggaol District. The use of rusty dur and used drum oil has a huge impact on the environment, especially on abiotic depletion and toxicity due to nets containing carbolic elements, and so on. Saving ideas such as "zero cages" on Lake Toba need to be reconstructed into norms and culture that must be implemented by all parties.
