Abstract

UV solar radiation intensively caused damage to human skin. Purple sweet potato leaves (Ipomoea batatas (L.)) contain a high anthocyanin component which has a chromophore group with conjugated double bonds, thus absorbing electromagnetic radiation in UV and Visible wavelength, so it can be used as a natural source of sunscreen. The aim of this research was conducted to determine the SPF value of ethanolic extract of purple sweet potato leaves (Ipomoea batatas (L.)) Antin-3 variety from two different drying methods namely freeze-drying for 48 hours (EFD) and oven for 24 hours (EOV). The results of this study indicate that Antin-3 leaf extract (EFD) at a concentration (ppm) 900; 700; 500; 300; 100 respectively are SPF 30; 25; 17; 11 and 4, while (EOV) respectively are SPF 13; 10; 7; 4 and 1. Effectivity sunscreen represented as SPF values, above 15 were categorized as ultra protection; between 8 and 15 as maximal protection; between 6 and 8 as extra protection; between 2 and 4 as minimal protection. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the method of freeze-drying even though it requires a longer time and costs more expensive than the oven method but provides protection for sunscreen 2.5 times higher.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat adanya pengaruh tingkat pengetahuan terhadap rasionalitas pasien dalam menggunakan obat oral analgesik NSAID golongan Non Selektif COX-1 & COX-2 pada pengobatanswamedikasi di Apotek Latansa Sidoarjo serta untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh antara faktor sosiodemografi (usia, jenis kelamin, tingkat pendidikan dan status pekerjaan) terhadap tingkat pengetahuan dan rasionalitas penggunaan obat oral analgesik NSAID Non Selektif COX-1 & COX-2 pada pengobatan swamedikasi di Apotek Latansa Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif observasional melalui pembagiankuesioner kepada 70 pasien sebagai sampel. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara prospektif. Hubungan antaravariabel penelitian dianalisis dengan uji statistik Chi Square pada aplikasi statistik SPSS ver 22. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa responden sebagian besar memiliki pengetahuan yang baik (71,50%) dan swamedikasiyang rasional (75,70%). Tingkat pendidikan menunjukkan adanya pengaruh dengan tingkat pengetahuan (Asymp sig (2-sided) = 0,042 ≤ 0,050) pada tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Dan usia menunjukkan adanya pengaruh dengan rasionalitas penggunaan obat oral analgesik NSAID Non Selektif COX-1 & COX-2 dalam pengobatan swamedikasi (Asymp sig (2-sided) = 0,049 ≤ 0,050) pada tingkat kepercayaan 95%.Hasil analisis dengan uji statistik Chi Square menunjukkan adanya pengaruh antara tingkat pengetahuan pasien terhadap rasionalitas penggunaan obat oral analgesik NSAID Non Selektif COX-1 & COX-2 dalam pengobatan swamedikasi (Asymp sig (2-sided) = 0, 016 ≤ 0,050) pada tingkat kepercayaan 95%.Kata Kunci: swamedikasi, pengetahuan & rasionalitas, analgesik NSAID COX-1 dan COX-2.ABSTRACTThis study was conducted to see the effect of society knowledge on rational use of oral NSAID (Non Selective COX-1 & COX-2) self medication in Latansa Apotek Sidoarjo and to investigate the influence ofsociodemographic factors (age, gender, level education and employment status) on the level of knowledge and rational use of oral NSAID (Non Selective COX-1 & COX-2) self medication in the Latansa Apotek Sidoarjo.This observational study is descriptively through the distribution of questionnaires to 70 patients in the sample. The collection of data carried out prospectively. The relationship between variables was analyzed with statistical test Chi Square on statistical application SPSS ver 22. The level of education showed that have significancy on the level of knowledge (Asymp sig (2-sided) = 0.042 ≤ 0.050) at the 95% confidence level. Ages showed that have significancy on with the rational use oral analgesic NSAIDs Non Selective COX-1 and COX-2 in the treatment swamedikasi (Asymp sig (2-sided) = 0,014 ≤ 0.050) at the 95% confidence level.The result of this study showed that (71,50%) of respondent have good knowledge on NSAID while 75,70% of respondents have appropiate NSAID self-medication behaviors. Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari hubungan kuantitatif antara parameter sifat lipofilik ((π Hansch), elektronik (σ Hammet) dan sterik (ES Taft) dengan aktivitas antibakteri yang ditunjukkan dengan diameter daerah hambatan Pseudomonas aeroginosa ATCC 90277 dari turunan N-Benzoil Sefaleksin. Turunan N-Benzoil Sefaleksin yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah N- Benzoil sefaleksin; N-[4- metilbenzoil] sefaleksin; N-[4- klorobenzoil] sefaleksin and N-[3,4- diklorobenzoil] sefaleksin. Aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan secara uji mikrobiologi menggunakan difusi silinder logam pada media Antibiotika-1. Data penelitian dianalisa secara regresi dengan derajat kepercayaan (α = 0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang liner antara variabelbebas yaitu parameter sifat lipofilik ((π Hansch), elektronik (σ Hammet) dan sterik (ES Taft) dari turunan NBenzoil Sefaleksin dengan variabel tergantung yaitu diameter daerah hambatan pertumbuhan bakteriPseudomonas aeroginosa ATCC 90277. Hubungan tersebut dinyatakan dengan suatu persamaan.Kata kunci : turunan N-Benzoil Sefaleksin, lipofilik (π Hansch), elektronik (σ Hammet),sterik (ES Taft), hubungan kuantitatif struktur dan aktivitas, diameter zona hambatABSTRACTThe aims of this research are to studies the quantitative relationship between lipophilicity (π Hansch); electronicity (σ Hammet); stericity (ES Taft) parameters and antibacterial activity of N- Benzoil cephalexin derivate (inhibit area diameter) on Pseudomonas aeroginosa ATCC 90277. The N- Benzoil cephalexin derivate which used in this research are N- Benzoil cephalexin; N-[4- methylbenzoil] cephalexin; N-[4- chlorobenzoil] cephalexin and N- [3,4- dichlorobenzoil] cephalexin. Antibacterial activity was done through assessment microbiological using metal cylinder diffusion on antibiotic-1 media.The experimental data was carried out by regression analyzed with α = 0.05. The result showed that there are linier relationship between lipophilicity (π Hansch); electronicity (σ Hammet); stericity (ES Taft) parameters of N- Benzoil cephalexin derivate (as independent variable) and inhibitation zone (diameter against Pseudomonas aeroginosa ATCC 90277 as dependent variable). Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui shelf-life linen bedah rekondisi yang disterilkan dengan otoklaf dan disimpan di ruang yang memenuhi syarat penyimpanan di CSSD Rumah Sakit “X” Surabaya.Uji sterilitasdilakukan menggunakan metode inokulasi langsung dengan lidi kapas. Sampel disimpan selama 12 hari pada suhu (18-22)0C dan kelembaban (35-75)%. Sampel ini diambil di hari ke 0, 3, 6, 9, dan 12. Untuk menghindari positif palsu, harus dilakukan uji sterilitas media, uji fertilitas media , uji cairan pembasah, dan uji efektivitas LAFC. Sebagai jaminan proses sterilitas dilakukan kontrol indikator sterilisasi yang meliputiindikator fisika, indikator kimia, dan indikator biologi. Ada dua media kultur yang digunakan, yaituFluid Thyoglycollate Medium dengan Bacillus subtilisuntuk menguji adanya bakteri dan Soybean-CaseinDigest Medium dengan Candida albicans untuk mengetahui adanya pertumbuhan jamur. Hasil dari uji sterilitas media, uji fertilitas media, dan uji efektivitas LAFC juga uji sterilitas cairan pembasah memenuhii persyaratan. Hasil pengujian sampel menunjukkan bahwa selama 12 hari penyimpanan tetap steril.Kata kunci: Linen bedah rekondisi, Shelf-life, dan SterilisasiABSTRACTThis research was conducted to determine shelf-life linen recondition which sterilized with autoclaves and stored at conditional storage room of CSSD “X” Surabaya hospital. Sterility test was using direct inoculation method with cotton swab. Samples were stored for 12 days at a temperature of (18-22)0C and humidity of (35-75)%. These samples were taken at days 0, 3, 6, 9, and 12. To avoid false positive, it had to used media sterility test, media fertility test, wetting liquid test, and effectiveness test LAFC. As the assurance sterility process, sterilization indicator control was using with physic, chemistry,and biologi indicator. There are two culture media used, were Thyoglycollate Medium Fluid with Bacillus subtilis tested bacteria and Soybean-casein DigestMedium with Candida albicans. The research result of media Sterility test, media fertility test, and LAFC effectivity test also sterility test of sterile wetting liquid is meet the requirements. The result samples showed that during 12 days of storage remains sterile.Keywords: Linen surgical recondition, Shelf-life, and Sterilization

Abstract

ABSTRAKKulit buah kakao adalah salah satu sumber antioksidan alami. Ekstrak etanol kulit buah kakao memiliki nilai IC50 sebesar 0.08 mg/ml. Kulit buah kakao mengandung 37 % katekin, 4%antosianin dan 58 % proantosianidin. Antioksian topikal dalam kosmetika contohnya masker gel peel off dan krim. Formula Kosmetika yang baik adalah yang memiliki karakteristik dan stabilitas yang baik.Studi ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh data dari pengaruh kombinasi HPMC dan PVA = FM 1:FM2:FM3:FM4= (2:12); (4:12): (2:16); (4:16) terhadap daya sebar dan waktu mengering dari sediaan masker gel. Selain itu juga untuk mengetahui pengeruh kecepatan pengadukan 750 rpm dan 1500 rpm terhadap penyebaran dan ukuran globul dari krim antioksidan.Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan baik HPMC dan PVA tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap daya sebar dan konsentrasi HPMC lebih tinggi akan mempengaruhi waktu mengering dari masker gel peel off selama masa simpan 28 hari. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan daya sebar dan ukuran globul pada metode pengadukan 750 rpm namun tidak pada pengadukan 1500 rpm  pada krim wajah antioksidan selama masa simpan 28 hari.Kata Kunci: Kulit buah cacao, karakteristik fisik, masker gel peel off , krim antioksidan.ABSTRACTCocoa rind (Theobroma cacao L.) is a natural resourches of antioxidant.  Half percent (0.5 %) Ethanolic extract of Cacao rind (Theobroma cacao L.) has 50 IC value as a 0,08 mg/ mL. Cocoa rind containing 37 % cathecin, 4 % anthocyanins and 58 % proanthocyanidins. Antioxidant topical in cosmetics such as peel off gel mask and cream. A good cosmetics formulation gives a good characteristic and stability.  The study aims to provide data on the effect of HPMC - PVA combination = FM 1:FM2:FM3:FM4= (2:12); (4:12): (2:16); (4:16) to the power spread and drying time of the peel off gel mask. In addition, this study gives data of stirring speed at 750 rpm and 1500 rpm = FC1:FC2 that influence spreading and globul size of antioxidant cream. This study finds that during the storage period of 28 days the difference of HPMC and PVA has no affect on the power spread but it affects the drying time, the greater concentration of HPMC can rapidly dry the gel mask when applied to the skin surface. The study also finds that during the storage period of 28 days, there was a significant difference in power spread and particle size at 750 rpm stirring and no significant difference in 1500 rpm.Key Words: Cocoa rind extract, physic characteristic, peel off gel mask, antioxidant cream.

Abstract

ABSTRAKEkstrak daun ubi jalar ungu ( Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lamk Varietas Antin 3 mengandung flavonoid yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku sediaan tabir surya. Sediaan tabir surya penting untuk digunakan karena dapat melindungi kulit dari paparan radiasi sinar UV A dan UV B dari sinar matahari yang dapat merusak kulit dan memicu terjadinya penuaan dini pada kulit. Agar dapat menjadi bahan baku yang terukur efektifitas dan keamanannya maka diperlukan standarisasi ekstrak, salah satunya standarisasi non spesifik kadar abu. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membandingkan kadar abu ekstrak daun yang dikeringkan secara freeze drying dan oven, karena keduanya terbukti mengandung kadar flavonoid yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada ekstrak daun Antin 3 yang dikeringkan secara freeze drying suhu -45 0C selama 48 jam dan oven suhu 400C selama 24 jam memiliki kadar abu total adalah 6.9 % dan 7.3 % sedangkan kadar abu tidak larut asam adalah1.6 % dan 0.9 %.Kata kunci: Ekstrak daun Antin 3, freeze drying, oven, kadar abu total, kadar abu tidak larut asam ABSTRACTEthanolic extract of purple sweetpotatoes (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lamk Antin 3 variety contain flavonoids. Flavonoids has sunscreen effectivity. Antin 3 extract need to be standardized, in order to be a raw material ofsunscreen. Nonspecific standardization can measures the effectiveness and safety of the extract. Sunscreen can protect the skin harmfull effect of UV A and UV B radiation from sunlight. The study aims to provide data the effect of Antin 3 leaf drying method dried freeze (-45 0C) during 48 hours and oven (40 0C) during 24 hours on its ash content. This study finds that freeze dried Antin 3 leaf have total ash content and insoluable acid ash content respectively is 6.9 % and 7.3 %, while oven Antin 3 leaf respectively is 1.6 % and 0.9 %.Keywords: Antin 3 leaf extract, freeze dried, oven, total ash content, insoluable acid ash content.

Abstract

Ultraviolet radiation intensively causes oxidation and premature skin aging. UV B radiation causes sunburn and pigmentation. Sunscreen is used to protect the skin due to excessive sun UV exposure. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical characteristics and SPF value of emulgel containing purple sweet potatoes leaves extract (Ipomoea batatas (L.)) Antin-3 variety. Determination of the SPF value using the UV-VIS spectrophotometer method. Both of Antin-3 emulgel and base emulgel were not show phase separation after mechanically tested. Their not only had a homogeneous and soft consistency but also fresh on the skin. Antin-3 emulgel had a light brown colour and leaves extract scent while base emulgel had a white colour and base scent. Spread capacity and pH value of Antin-3 emulgel and base emulgel in a row were 3.6 cm; 6.28 and 3.2 cm; 6.41. SPF value of Antin-3 emulgel was 6.50 and base emulgel was 1.17. Antin-3 emulgel have extra potency to protect against UV B radiation.

Abstract

Ethanol extract of purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.)) leaves of Antin-3 variety contains flavonoids and polyphenols which can be used as a source of acne anti-bacterial because it can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus. This study aims to obtain data on physical characteristics, acceptability and stability of anti-acne mask formulation of 70% ethanol extract of Antin-3 leaves. The research method used were characteristic, acceptability and stability test. There were 4 types of samples tested, namely base, Antin-3 extract 5%: 10% and 20% (B: F1: F2: F3). The organoleptic results showed that the higher concentration of extract, the darker color of mask and the stronger of extract smell and the softer of consistency. The pH values ​​(B: F1:F2: F3) were respectively 6.46; 5.78; 5.75; 5.46. The value of adhesion (B: F1: F2: F3) were respectively 1.1; 1.46; 2.17 and 4.53 seconds. The value of spreading capacity (B: F1: F2: F3) were respectively 3.89; 4.15; 4.36 and 3.45 cm. The results of the acceptability test showed that F2 was the easiest formula to spread, clean and softest sensation on the skin. The results of the mechanical and cycling test showed that the four samples had not undergo phase separation. Anti-acne mask with 70% ethanol extract of Antin-3 leaves by 10% met the physical characteristics, acceptability and stability.

Abstract

Significant temperature changes make the body unable to adjust properly, which eventually leads to disease, affects the immune system, and increases the risk of developing viruses and bacteria. Empowerment of family medicinal plants in the cultivation and utilization of TOGA can be a way to overcome these problems, especially in the city of Surabaya. The purpose of this community service is to increase public understanding of the efficacy of TOGA and to create facilities for nature conservation, especially the cultivation of TOGA greenery. The form of community service activities is providing education, giving and planting TOGA, and monitoring TOGA maintenance. The resulting output is increasing public understanding of the efficacy of TOGA and creating facilities for nature conservation, especially cultivating reforestation for special TOGA gardens (Kencur, turmeric, temulawak, and binahong) so that they can help realize preventive and promotional communities in overcoming disease problems that often arise during the transition season.
