Abstract

Based on the early observation and test results of mathematical representation ability , it is shown that the ability of mathematical representation of the students was still low so that it needed to be improved. In this case, Problem Based Learning (PBL) model could be one of the alternatives in implementing mathematics learning in the class. PBL model consists of five phases which are students’ orientation on the problem, organizing the students to study, guiding students’ experiences, developing and presenting attainments, and also, analyzing and evaluating problem solving process. Each phase could improve students’ mathematical representation ability in the learning. PBL model implementation in the learning. This research is a classroom action research that implemented in three cycles. Students were given a quiz as the final test in every cycle to measure their mathematical representation ability. The result shows that mathematics learning using the PBL model could improve students’ mathematical representation ability. It is shown by the improvement of average score of mathematical representation ability and the presentation of quantity of students who reach Minimum Learning Mastery Standard in each cycle

Abstract

Not understanding the concepts that students receive is one of the things that makes mistakes in learning mathematics. Apart from that, it can be said that the teacher failed in carrying out learning. Therefore, on this occasion we will discuss the Teacher's Mindset in Conveying Mathematics Learning Concepts. Objective: Teacher's Mindset in Conveying Understanding of Mathematics Learning Concepts. Method: problem solving using a qualitative descriptive approach by conducting community service research. Results: In overcoming misconceptions in mathematics learning, it is necessary to analyze the obstacles that influence misconceptions so that quick solutions can be provided to overcome the problems found.

Abstract

Rabies is an infectious disease caused by the rabies virus. Apart from that, rabies is also a disease of warm-blooded animals which can be transmitted to humans. The situation of rabies in Indonesia continues to increase every year from each province, until 2011 there were 52,503 cases of animal bites reported. Rabies transmitter, with 104 deaths due to rabies. Preventing the transmission of rabies can include vaccinating animals that transmit rabies, reporting any animals infected with rabies, and being alert to stray dogs. The aim of this research is to determine the behavior of dog owners towards preventing rabies.
