Abstract

Hybrid chili plants are very susceptible to pests and diseases. Therefore, nowadays farmers tend to cultivate lokal chilies. This is because empirically local chilies are proven to be more resistant to pests and diseases than hybrid chilies. West Sumatra has a very varied genetic diversity of local chilies. Unfortunately its potential is still not optimally utilized. The aim of the study was to observe the growth and yield of several genotypes of local West Sumatra chilies. This experiment used a completely randomized design (CRD) to test six local chili genotypes, namely: Pesisir Selatan, Ateng Pasaman Barat, Dhamasraya 2, Ateng Maninjau, Tanah Datar, and Kampung Manangah Solok Selatan. Data were analyzed using the F test of variance and continued with the Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5% level. The results showed that plant height, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit diameter, fruit length and capsaicin content were affected by the chili genotypeINTISARI Tanaman cabai hibrida sangat rentan terhadap serangan hama dan penyakit.  Oleh karena itu, dewasa ini petani cenderung untuk berbudidaya cabai lokal. Hal ini disebabkan secara empirik cabai lokal terbukti lebih tahan hama dan penyakit dibandingkan cabai hibrida.  Sumatera Barat memiliki keragaman genetik cabai lokal yang amat variatif.  Sayang potensinya masih belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal.  Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk melihat pertumbuhan dan hasil beberapa genotipe cabai lokal Sumatera Barat.  Percobaan ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL)  untuk menguji enam genotipe cabai lokal, yaitu:  Pesisir Selatan, Ateng Pasaman Barat, Dhamasraya 2, Ateng  Maninjau, Tanah Datar, dan Kampung Manangah Solok Selatan.  Data dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam uji F dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peubah tinggi tanaman, jumlah buah per tanaman, bobot buah per tanaman, diameter buah, panjang buah dan kadar capsaicin dipengaruhi oleh genotipe cabai.

Abstract

Tomatoes (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill), are one of the agricultural commodities that are popular with the public because they taste delicious and fresh and contain various kinds of vitamins. Efforts that can be made to increase the productivity of tomato plants include applying fertilizer. The fertilizer given can be organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer. Providing compost fertilizer is highly recommended, especially to improve the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil, as a medium for plant growth. The aim of this research is to obtain the best dose of compost for the growth and yield of tomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentun Mill). This research is an experiment based on a completely randomized design (CRD) with six treatments and four replications. With compost treatment: 0 tons/ha, 5 tons/ha, 10 tons/ha, 15 tons/ha, 20 tons/ha and 25 tons/ha. The results of the research showed that observing the number of primary branches, number of flower clusters and fruit weight per plant had a significant difference, whereas observing plant height, flowering age, harvest age and number of fruit per plant had no significantly different influence on tomato plants.

Abstract

The demand for long bean plants is still quite high among the public, but the production of long bean plants is decreasing every year. This research aims to determine the growth and production of long bean plants when given various types of compost and NPK Mutiara 16:16:16. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) of 2 factors, the first factor was Providing Various Types of Compost Fertilizer (corn litter, banana peels, cassava peels and pineapple peels) and the second factor was NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 (0 kg/ha, 100 kg/ha, 200 kg/ha, 300 kg/ha). The variables observed were Net Assimilation Rate, Relative Growth Rate, flowering age, harvest age, number of pods, pod weight and pod length per plant. The results of the research showed that the combination of pineapple peel compost and NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 could increase the growth and production of long bean plants compared to other treatments. Providing compost or NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 fertilizer alone does not improve all observed parameters on the growth and production of long bean plants.

Abstract

Tomatoes are multipurpose vegetables, in addition to being used as vegetables, they can also be used as raw materials for food processing. Red Yellow Podsolic (RYP)) soil which is widely found in the Rokan Hilir area, has a relatively low fertility level and tends to be acidic. Therefore, choosing the right type and dose of organic fertilizer is very important to improve soil quality and support the growth of tomato plants. The purpose of this study was to obtain the best dose of manure for the growth and yield of tomato plants on Red Yellow Podsolic (RYP) soil. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors. The first factor is the type of organic fertilizer (P), namely cow manure and goat manure. The second factor is the dose of organic fertilizer (D) consisting of 500 g/plant, 1000 g/plant, 1500 g/plant and 2000 g/plant. The observation data were explained statistically by the analysis of variance (F test). The results showed that the provision of cow manure had a significant effect on flowering age, harvest age and root volume. The administration of a fertilizer dose of 2000 g/plant gave a significant effect on the observation of plant height, root length, and root volume. The administration of goat manure had a significant effect on the observation of the number of fruits per plant and the weight of fruits per plant.

Abstract

The utilization of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the agricultural sector offers an innovative solution to overcome the inefficiencies of traditional irrigation systems, which are still commonly applied in vocational education environments such as SMKN 2 Tanah Putih. This study aims to design and implement an automatic irrigation system based on IoT using soil moisture sensors, an Arduino microcontroller, and an ESP8266 communication module. The system enables real-time monitoring and control of plant watering via an internet-based application. The implementation results demonstrate increased efficiency in water usage and more optimal plant maintenance compared to conventional methods. By integrating technology into learning practices and school-based agricultural activities, this project not only supports local food security efforts but also provides a concrete contribution to the adoption of sustainable agriculture in educational institutions.
