Abstrak. Permintaan kebutuhan cabai yang terus meningkat disebabkan oleh pertumbuhan populasi penduduk dan perkembangan industri makanan, namun permintaan pemenuhan kebutuhan cabai mengalami kendala akibat serangan Begomovirus sehingga menurunkan produksi cabai. Upaya perbaikan produksi cabai dapat dilakukan dengan peningkatan keragaman ketahanan cabai terhadap Begomovirus melalui mutasi iradiasi sinar gamma. Terdapat tujuh tanaman uji yang terdiri dari 1 varietas Tetua, 4 genotipe hasil mutasi ketiga (M3), dan 2 varietas pembanding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan genotipe M3 D3-9-9 memiliki ketahanan terbaik terhadap infeksi Begomovirus dan terbaik pada hasil karakter vegetatif. Sedangkan hasil produksi cabai terbaik terjadi pada genotipe M3 D1-10-5.Increasing The Genetic Diversity Of Chili Resistance To Begomovirus In Multiple Odeng Mutants (M3) Genotypes Through Gamma Ray IrradiationAbstract. The results showed that the M3 D3-9-9 genotype had the best resistance to Begomovirus infection and the best vegetative characters. While the best chili production results occurred in genotype M3 D1-10-5.
