Abstract

In North Sumatra Province, especially Medan City, the noise level exceeds the predetermined limit, where the noise makes people in Medna City experience problems with sleep quality, such as difficulty sleeping, waking up at night which results in poor health conditions of the population, especially productive residents, so that later residents can easily get other diseases due to poor sleep quality, where this is influenced by vehicle noise factors, noise factors in industry, noise factors in residential environments, and noise factors in public areas, such as in public places that disturb community conditions and also lead to disruption of people's sleep quality. This study aims to investigate the influence of urban environment and noise level on the sleep quality of residents in Medan City. Rapid urban growth often leads to high levels of noise and other environmental disturbances, which can have a negative impact on human health, including sleep disturbances. This study used analytical descriptive method with cross sectional approach. The number of respondents amounted to 80 people in several urban environments in Medan City, where data collection techniques were carried out using documentation studies, interviews with questionnaires and also using observation. Data analysis techniques can be performed using the distribution of respondents, and Univariate analysis. From the results of the study, it was concluded that from several risk factors that are vulnerable to lack of sleep quality, the age of >60 years is an age that is vulnerable to the condition of lack of quality sleep in the community, while for urban conditions that exist are urban conditions where traffic and transportation are chaotic and not neatly arranged.

Medan is one of the cities that has an industrial area located in the mabar area of Medan Deli District, where this area has several medium and large-scale industries, where there are some akryawan who choose to live in the area, but there are also houses of non-employees who still exist around the industrial area. The obstacle is the increase in noise pollution and air pollution that pollutes the environment of residents who make residents, especially some children living in the area experience lung pain (pneumonia), where this illness is caused by inhalation of smoke or pollutants from factory chimneys. This study aims to find out some of the problems that make the situation that occurs in industrial estates cannot be prevented because companies need to dispose of pollutants through factory chimneys, then how are the ways done by industrial estates and the government in overcoming the problem of the outbreak of lung disease for children living around the area. This research was conducted using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study explain the things that have been done by the industrial estate in preventing the increase of lung disease in children in industrial insights in Medan, among others, by implementing a carbon emission control system, determining environmental hygiene standards in industrial estate areas, collaborating with the Government to implement green open areas to prevent pollution, and conducting counseling and coaching to the community to be aware of the rampant disease lungs by children who are in industrial areas, while the things that must be done by the government to prevent lung disease in children living in the Medan Industrial area are by implementing counseling and counseling on lung diseases, supervising the implementation of environmental standards in industrial insights, building systems to monitor air quality in industrial insights, collaborating with industrial insights to build green open areas, improving medical services, implement a system that reduces the social impact of industrial activity in residential areas

Abstract

Background: Low Birth Weight (LBW) can be defined as a baby weighingless than 2500 grams or 5.5 pounds. The causes of LBW are generallymultifactorial, including maternal factors, pregnancy factors, fetal factors, and other factors. Based on research that has been conducted, severalmaternal factors that can influence the occurrence of LBW include age, hemoglobin levels, and maternal parity.Research Objectives: The purpose of this study is to analyze therelationship between maternal age, hemoglobin levels and parity and theincidence of LBW babies in mother giving birth at Dr. pirngadi Hospital in2022-2023.Methods: This study used an observational-analytic method with a cross-sectional research design.Research Result : The total number of research samples is 119 samples. The analysis used chi square test at p < 0,05. The result showed that agehave a correlation with the incidence of LBW with a p-value 0,036(<0,05), maternal hemoglobin levels also have a correlation with theincidence of LBW with p-value 0,022(0,05) and parity has correlation withthe incidence of LBW with p-value 0,031(<0,05).Conclusion :Maternal age, hemoglobin levels and parity are associatedwith the incidence of LBW at Dr. Pirngadi Hospital in 2022-2023.Keywords : LBW, Age, Maternal Hemoglobin levels, Parity

Abstract

Background: Hemorrhoids are a very commonanorectal condition defined as symptoms ofenlargement and displacement of the normal anal padto distal. The causes of hemorrhoids themselves arestill idiopathic or not widely known, but many arecaused by age, gender, lack of drinking and fiberconsumption, constipation, occupation, genetics, lackof exercise, overweight, increased intraabdominalpressure. Objective: This study aimed to determinethe relationship between body mass index andoccupation in hemorrhoid incidence. Methods: Thistype of study uses an observational analyticalmethod, with a crosssectional design, a datacollection method using secondary data obtainedfrom medical records diagnosed with hemorrhoids atMitra Sejati Hospital, Medan city in 2023. Results:The results of this study showed that there was arelationship between body mass index and theincidence of hemorrhoids with a value of p = 0.024,and there was a significant relationship between workand hemorrhoids with a value of p = 0.031.Conclusion: There is a relationship between bodymass index and occupation in hemorrhoid incidenceKeywords: hemorrhoids, body mass index, occupationz

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease condition caused by a dengue virus infection. DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, and DENV-4 are serotypes of the virus and are usually transmitted through the bite of mosquitoes from the stegomyia family, such as Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. DHF often results in extraordinary events (KLB) and can lead to death. The disease can be categorized into four different clinical stages: stages I, II, III, and IV. Laboratory examination in DHF usually shows a decrease in platelet count below 100,000/µl and the presence of leaky plasma, which can be seen from the hematocrit that has increased by more than 20%. Objective to determine whether there is a relationship between hematocrit value and platelet count at degrees III and IV in DHF incidence. This type of research uses an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional approach. In the analysis, there is a significant relationship between hematocrit value and clinical degrees III and IV with a value of p = 0.043, and there is a relationship between platelet counts and clinical degrees III and IV with a value of p = 0.000.  There is a relationship between hematocrit value and platelet count in clinical degrees III and IV of DHF.
