Abstract

ABSTRAK Sapi PO mempunyai beberapa kelebihan yaitu mampu beradaptasi terhadap berbagai kondisi lingkungan, sapi ini diperlihara sebagai sapi potong penghasil daging. Beberapa metode telah dikembangkan untuk memprediksi berat badan berdasarkan ukuran linear tubuh. Metode penelitian dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif,dengan cara wawancara kepada peternak dan pengambilan data dengan cara pengukuran panjang badan, tinggi gumba,lingkar dada. Penggunaan rumus modifikasi baru lebih tepat digunakan dalam penentuan bobot badan sapi PO betina di Kecamatan Bahorok, karena selisih berat badan asli tidak terlalu tinggi dengan selisih berat badan menggunakan rumus modifikasi baru dengan nilai rataan sebesar 21,78 dan dengan standar deviasi sebesar 13,20. Rumus Schrool dan rumus Winter Indonesia maupun rumus modifikasi lama tidak akurat digunakan karena rataan selisih dan standar deviasi diantaranya banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi, meliputi faktor lingkungan dan faktor genetik. ABSTRACT PO cattle have several advantages, namely being able to adapt to various environmental conditions, these cows are raised as beef cattle. Several methods have been developed to predict body weight based on linear body measurements. The research method used descriptive method, by interviewing breeders and collecting data by measuring body length, gumba height, and chest circumference. The use of the new modified formula is more appropriate in determining the body weight of female PO cattle in Bahorok District, because the difference in the original body weight is not too high with the difference in body weight using the new modified formula with an average value of 21.78 and a standard deviation of 13.20. The Schrool formula and the Winter Indonesia formula as well as the old modified formulas are not accurate to use because the average difference and standard deviation are many influencing factors, including environmental factors and genetic factors.
