The problem of organic waste generated by household remain an environmental issue in Bengkulu City. Organic waste that is not properly processed can cause environmental disturbances, foul odors, become a breeding ground for vectors, and produce greenhouse gases. This study was conducted to determine the knowledge of residents in Pekan Sabtu regarding household organic waste management and the utilization of maggots. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 30 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire on organic waste management and maggot utilization, administered before and after the intervention. Data analysis included univariate analysis of respondent characteristics and bivariate analysis, with normality testing using the Shapiro Wilk test and paired difference testing using the paired sample t-test. The results showed that the mean knowledge score of respondents increased from 9,33 in the pretest to 19,17 in the posttest. The results obtained from the paired difference analysis using the paired sample t-test showed a significance value (p-value = 0,001), indicating a significant difference in knowledge before and after the educational intervention. It is concluded and recommended that the community apply the knowledge gained through education in their daily lives, particularly in the sorting and management of organic waste. The community is also expected not only to dispose of organic waste directly but also to consider utilizing organic waste as a source of maggot feed.
