Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the effect off sambung nyawa (Gynura procumbens) juice in drinking water on broiler performance (feed consumption, aver-ege daily gain, feed conversion and persentasion carcass). The research is used 200 broiler Hybro strains from PT. Manggis, were allocated into 4 treatments and 5 replications consisting of 10 broiler. Maintenance of the chicken is done for 28 days. The treatment was juice sambung nyawa with each concentration : T0 (without the addition of sambung nyawa juice), T1 (addition of 10 sambung nyawa juice in 1000 ml of drinking water), T2 (addition of 20 sambung nyawa juice in 1000 ml of drinking water) and T3 (addition of 30 sambung nyawa juice in 1000 ml of drinking water). Parameters observed in this study is broiler performance (feed consumption, aver-ege daily gain, feed conversion and persentasion carcass). The result from a completely randomized design were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance / ANOVA) and if significant difference test followed by Duncan continued. The result showed that the addition of sambung nyawa juice at different levels (10, 20 and 30 ml) in the drinking water of broilers was highly did not affect (P > 0.05) on broiler performance (feed consumption, aver-ege daily gain, feed conversion and persentasion carcass).Keyword : Sambung Nyawa Juice, Performance Broiler.

Abstract

The growing demand for organic fertilizers as an alternative to chemical fertilizers is in line with increasing public awareness of environmentally friendly agriculture. Meanwhile, livestock waste, particularly rabbit urine, remains underutilized and is often discarded, despite its high nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium content and potential as a raw material for liquid organic fertilizer (LOF). This study aims to design and develop a simple technological innovation for processing rabbit urine into economically valuable LOF, offering new business opportunities for local communities. Another objective is to advance bioactivator-based processing technology to produce an effective, marketable, and eco-friendly organic fertilizer that enhances plant growth. The research employed an applied research method with an experimental approach, including collection and processing of rabbit urine, simple production of LOF, effectiveness testing on horticultural crops with local farmers, and analysis of business feasibility and local marketing strategies. The study resulted in a simple bioactivator-based technology for converting rabbit urine into LOF through a fermentation process of more than 14 days, producing fertilizer rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. The LOF improved horticultural crop growth by 25–30% compared to control plants. The group business model provides livestock farmers with new business opportunities, achieving profit margins between 40% and 50%. This research produced a replicable technology guide and usable LOF product, contributing to waste reduction and supporting sustainable agriculture through community-based entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomis produk ternak melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan ambon daging ayam bagi masyarakat Kelurahan Tanggung, Kota Blitar. Wilayah ini memiliki potensi ternak ayam yang tinggi, namun mayoritas peternak dan pelaku UMKM masih menjual produk dalam bentuk mentah sehingga memperoleh keuntungan yang rendah. Melalui program ini, peserta diberikan pelatihan teknis pengolahan daging ayam, mulai dari persiapan bahan, formulasi adonan, teknik pengolahan, pengemasan, hingga penerapan sanitasi dan higiene pangan. Selain itu, peserta juga mendapatkan pendampingan produksi, penguatan branding, serta pelatihan pemasaran berbasis digital. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada keterampilan peserta, terutama dalam pengolahan, sanitasi, dan pengemasan produk, dengan 80% peserta mampu menghasilkan ambon daging ayam berkualitas baik. Program ini juga meningkatkan motivasi masyarakat untuk memulai usaha rumahan serta memperluas peluang pasar melalui produk olahan lokal bernilai tambah. Kendala yang ditemukan berkaitan dengan fasilitas produksi, komitmen peserta, dan penerapan sanitasi, namun dapat diatasi melalui rencana tindak lanjut berupa pembinaan berkelanjutan, penyusunan SOP
