Abstract

Anemia in postpartum mothers is one that can lead to complications if not treated. In addition to iron tablets, green beans also play a role in the formation of red blood cells and have many ingredients that can help increase hemoglobin levels in postpartum mothers. This case study describes Mrs. S.M 23 years old, multiparity with Hb level 4.6 g%. The postpartum mother who experienced severe anemia consumed mung beans and combination of iron tablets and vitamin C. Observations of severe anemia in multiparity mothers were carried out through interviews, physical examination observations, literature studies and documentation. After consuming mung beans for 14 consecutive days carried out regularly 3 times a day, the mother said she felt more fresh, not weak, her Hb level increased to 6.2 g%. mother is happy with the situation. Based on the results above, it is concluded that the consumption of green beans can increase the Hb level in postpartum mothers by giving it in combination with the administration of iron tablets and Vitamin C.

Abstract

The family planning program must consider the issue of gender equality in formulating its priority activities. The choice of using contraceptive methods is influenced by perceptions or previous experiences, knowledge, beliefs, influence factors, social factors and other factors, before making a decision the acceptor seeks information first by considering risk factors, choices and communication. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of family planning acceptors in the selection of contraceptive methods in Olilit Raya village, Tanimbar Islands Regency. The method of this research is descriptive quantitative research with the type of research is retrospective. The study was conducted to determine the characteristics of the respondents, namely age, number of children, JKN participation, desire to have children, age of last child. The population in this study was used as a sample (total sampling), namely all the target family planning acceptors as many as 126 family planning acceptors. The results showed that 73 respondents (57.9%) of family planning acceptors chose to use injectable contraception, 92 respondents (73%) were aged 20-35 years, the highest parity of family planning acceptors was mothers who had multiparous children (90.5%) with the number of children between 2 to 4 people, 102 respondents (81.0%) family planning acceptors have National Health Insurance (JKN), 41 respondents (32.5%) family planning acceptors have children under five, children and adolescents. It is hoped that efforts to increase family planning participation need to be carried out on an ongoing basis with advocacy and KIE/Counseling for family planning services.

Abstract

One of the preparations for childbirth is preparing a Maternal and Child Health Book (KIA) document. However, many pregnant women still do not have and do not use the KIA book. The results of the 2023 SDKI showed that 13.8% had owned and 5% had never owned a KIA book. The KIA book contains health information for mothers from pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and continues to record the health of newborns until the age of 6 years. The aim was to determine the overview of the use of the KIA book by pregnant women in preparing for childbirth in Latdalam Village, Tanimbar Islands Regency. The research method was quantitative with a descriptive research design. The activity was carried out in Latdalam Village in February 2024. The sample taken was a total population of 23 pregnant women. The instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis used univariate analysis. The results showed that 95.65% of pregnant women did not have a KIA book, 100% of pregnant women did not use the KIA book in preparing for childbirth, and there was an increase in knowledge of 43.48% after being provided with counseling. Optimizing the use of the KIA book by pregnant women in preparing for childbirth is very effective.
