Abstract

Many studies have been conducted on the effect of student worksheets on student High Order Thinking Skills abilities. However, this research is still limited to aspects of research variables, especially moderator variables. The solution to this problem is to do a meta-analysis of the effect of worksheets on student High Order Thinking Skills abilities. The research objective was to determine the effect of worksheets on student High Order Thinking Skills abilities based on class levels, subjects, and learning models. The method used in this study is the method of meta-analysis, examining several articles in national and international journals.  The number of samples taken used 25 articles related to scicence worksheets with 11 Physics articles, 7 Biology articles, 7 Chemistry articles. Articles reviewed from 2018-2022. The results of the analysis show that the use of worksheets has a significant effect on student High Order Thinking Skills abilities both in terms of class level, subjects, and learning model. Thus, the use of worksheets is effective for increasing student High Order Thinking Skills abilities at various grade levels, subjects, and learning models. Based on the research results using worksheets in physics learning is a good solution to improve student High Order Thinking Skills abilities.

Abstract

The low scores of Pisa and TIMSS Indonesia show that students' abilities are still weak in 3 categories, namely linguistic literacy, scientific literacy, and mathematical literacy. To measure how far the achievement of student competence can be used assessment essay. Therefore this study aims to see the effect of essay assessment on students' competency achievement in science learning. This study used the literature review method through searches on Google Scholar and ERIC with the keywords "student competency achievement", "Essay Assessment", and "scoring". As research subjects, 16 articles were used which had been extracted from 1000 articles in national journals and international journals between 2019 and 2023. The results showed that the use of assessment essays based on educational level, namely at the high school level had a percentage of 62.5% while at the university level has a percentage of 60%. Furthermore, based on the material, it can be seen that the percentage of using assessment essays in biology and physics subjects obtained a percentage of 60%. So it can be concluded that Essay Assessment has an influence on the Achievement of Student Competence in Science Learning.

Abstract

Low science process skills also result in low learning outcomes. So the solution is to develop an electronic-based practicum guide using an inquiry model on measurement material. This research aims to develop an electronic-based practicum guide using an inquiry model on measurement material to improve science process skills and student learning outcomes. The development model is the ADDIE model. The research instruments used were expert and practitioner validation questionnaires, student response assessment questionnaires and pretest-posttest results. Data was analyzed quantitatively descriptively. The results of the N-gain test are 16 students who got a score of (g) ≥ 0.7, 14 students who got a score of (g) ≥ 0.3, and 14 students who got a score of (g) <0.3 as many as 0 people. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that electronic-based practicum guides using inquiry models in measurement material can improve science process skills and student learning outcomes.
