Abstract

Health is a condition in which we are far from or free of diseases. Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is a lifestyle pattern that aligns with health guidelines to improve the quality of life. PHBS can be implemented in the community, households, and schools. PHBS encompasses various health behaviors performed consciously, allowing family members or individuals to take care of their own health and actively participate in community health initiatives. Socialization about Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) has been carried out among the residents of Rabeu Village through methods such as lectures, discussions, and the use of poster media. The results indicate that, in general, the residents of Rabeu Village already understand the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and adopting clean and healthy living behaviors.

Abstract

Helminthiasis is a disease caused by intestinal parasitic worms with a relatively high prevalence that spreads throughout Indonesia. While not fatal, this disease gradually affects the health and productivity of those infected through a decline in nutritional status. Its slow-progressing nature and tendency to be asymptomatic classify helminthiasis as a neglected disease. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 1 billion people are infected with Ascaris lumbricoides, 795 million people with Trichiuris trichiura, or 740 million people with hookworm. The results obtained from socialization activities conducted in Leupeung Ulee Alue Village, Aceh Besar, indicate that the community still has limited understanding of the dangers posed by helminthiasis and the factors that can lead to infection. This community engagement initiative aims to provide the residents of Leupeung Ulee Alue Village with a better understanding of this disease.

Abstract

The 3R-based waste management (reduce, reuse, recycle) carried out by children in Cot Mancang Village, Aceh Besar, has significant potential for replication elsewhere, thus requiring an in-depth study of its implementation. This community service aims to identify the social characteristics and participation capacity of children in Cot Mancang Village in waste management. It analyzes the children's perceptions of the health benefits of proper waste management. The service employs an educational approach and observation involving 20 school-aged children. The objectives of the service are to measure the level of understanding of children in Cot Mancang Village both before and after the socialization and to provide materials related to waste management. The results of the service show an improvement in the understanding of waste management among the children in Cot Mancang Village. This improvement is evident from the pre-test and post-test results conducted before and after the socialization. In conclusion, it is clear that socialization regarding waste management can enhance the children's understanding of proper waste management.
