Abstract

Personal hygiene (PHy) is a public health effort that studies environmental conditions on human health, efforts to prevent disease from occurring due to the influence of the health environment, and create environmental conditions in such a way that health care is guaranteed. The Peswahan Village community has not implemented PHy because of a lack of self-awareness, the sources of information and education provided, and a decline in health status. Socialization through visual content is carried out with the aim that village communities can understand the importance of PHy and in the end can change bad behavior to be good in a sustainable manner. Socialization efforts are carried out by holding meetings and counseling for the local community. The results of this socialization show an increase in public awareness about the importance of PHy. Based on the pre-test and post-test data, it shows a very significant change in public knowledge in answering questions related to personal hygiene correctly, increasing from 38.35% to 61.65%.

Abstract

As the palm oil industry grows, it will have a negative impact on the environment. To maintain global markets and competitiveness, the government must support the national palm oil industry using sustainable principles. This requires an understanding of the 3 P's (people, planet, profit). To meet the sustainability requirements, the Indonesian government has issued several environmental programs: the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO), Performance Rating Program and Green Industry. Existing environmental programs have their own strengths and weaknesses, including regulations, principles and stakeholders. A harmonization method is needed to integrate the principles of each program. This study uses the Integrated Management System (IMAS) method to refine their advantages and disadvantages. Existing programs can be integrated if they are related (parallelism) and the principles are aligned. The evaluation shows that the performance level of the ISPO, PROPER and GI programs is well influenced by key factors in the form of top management support, company competitiveness and company vision and mission.

Abstract

The Sungai Langka Village area lacks drainage and has elevated roads, causing water to run off during rainfall and onto the roads and into people's yards. In these conditions, efforts will be made to utilise water runoff as an alternative water source. This study aims to determine the effect of infiltration in the application of biopori infiltration pit technology. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach. The data were processed using the Horton method and analysed descriptively. Infiltration data was collected in situ in the field. The data compared the infiltration rate before and after the application of biopori infiltration pits. The results showed that the infiltration rate was constant at 46 cm/hour, 44 cm/hour, 32 cm/hour, 36 cm/hour and 32 cm/hour before the application of biopori infiltration pits. Meanwhile, the infiltration rates after the application of biopore infiltration pits were 110 cm/hour, 78 cm/hour, 70 cm/hour, 104 cm/hour and 138 cm/hour. The aim of the study was to determine how increasing infiltration rates can reduce water runoff and increase groundwater reserves.
