Abstract

Mangrove forest is a type of forest that grows in coastal areas and river estuaries and has three functions, namely ecological, social, and economic functions. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of diversity of mangrove species in Tatengesan Village, Pusomaen District, Southeast Minahasa Regency. Observations were made on a transect with a size of 50 x 25 m consisting of 4 plots. Mangrove sampling was carried out using a plot with a size of 10 x 7 m, using a purposive sampling method. Ecological index analysis includes species diversity, uniformity, and dominance. There are 7 mangrove species namely Bruguiera gymnnorhiza, Rhizophora mangle, Kandelia obovata, Avicennia marina, Rhizophora mucronata, Languncularia racemose, and Ceriops tagal. The species diversity index at the biological level is low.

Abstract

In Indonesia, around 9,600 plant species contain compounds or active ingredients with medicinal properties that people can use for traditional medicine because they are natural compared to modern medicine. Medicinal plants are found in many habitats, however, due to developments in the times, people are increasingly using modern medicine, so it is feared that the introduction of medicinal plants will become extinct. This research aims to identify medicinal plants in West Wangurer Village, Bitung City, and how to use them. The research was conducted in March-April 2023 using an exploratory descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Medicinal plant sampling used a purposive sampling method and data on the use of medicinal plants was obtained from interviews with the community. The research results obtained 30 species of medicinal plants used by the community as medicinal ingredients in West Wangurer Village, Madidir District, Bitung City, North Sulawesi. This medicinal plant is used for various diseases such as fever, hypertension, diabetes, diarrhea, digestive disorders, and others.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas kombinasi ekstrak daun pacar air (Impatiens balsamina, L.) dan lidah buaya (Aloe vera) dalam proses penyembuhan luka sayatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Hewan uji yang digunakan adalah mencit (Mus musculus) jantan dewasa yang dibagi dalam 5 kelompok, yaitu kontrol positif (F0, bioplacenton); kontrol negatif (F1, tanpa perlakuan); perlakuan formula sediaan gel dari ekstrak daun pacar air 2,5% dan lidah buaya 2,5% (F2); pacar air 5% dan lidah buaya 5% (F3); pacar air 10% dan lidah buaya 10% (F4). Bagian paha belakang kanan mencit yang sebelumnya telah dicukur dan diolesi alkohol 70% dibuat luka sayat dengan silet sepanjang 10 mm dan kedalaman 2 mm. Pemberian sediaan gel dilakukan setiap hari pada jam 10.00 WITA selama 12 hari. Hasil penyembuhan luka sayat yang paling tinggi ditunjukkan oleh kelompok F4 dan F3, di mana pada hari ke-8 luka sudah menutup sempurna. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian sediaan gel ekstrak daun tumbuhan pacar air 5% dan lidah buaya 5% lebih efektif dalam penyembuhan luka sayat daripada Bioplacenton.
