Abstract

programme designed to shape students' cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills. Knowledge, professional attitude and responsibility can be nurtured through the routine of internship activities. Through assigned activities, students will adapt to professional routines in the professional world. Through the skinative research method using the effectiveness of objectives approach, this research tries to explore whether the professional internship programme that has been carried out by the KPI study programme in improving its competence has been effective. From the results of the research, it was found that the professional internship programme can be said to be effective. This can be seen from the results of good output and outcome achievements. Even so, the implementation still leaves problems. When viewed from the perspective of the management process, it still needs improvement in the implementation process which still depends on the role of the executive committee. As a result, there is a lack of smoothness in other stages of the management process. Namely the stages of supervision and control.

Abstract

Previous research on gender discourse in digital da'wah has not thoroughly analysed the mechanisms of gender discourse construction through a sophisticated critical discourse analysis approach on digital platforms. This study analyses the construction of women's discourse in Ning Imaz's digital da'wah on YouTube NU Online using Sara Mills' critical discourse analysis model on five da'wah videos from the 2022-2023 period. The findings reveal that Ning Imaz successfully builds personal religious authority through digital platforms, transforming the authority mechanism from a hierarchical-institutional model to a participatory-digital one. However, this discourse construction operates within the ‘Digital Islamic Feminism Paradox’—a fundamental dialectic between the empowerment and restriction of women through the naturalisation of the concept of ‘fitrah’ that legitimises gender hierarchy and the redefinition of terminology from “equality” to ‘gender justice.’ The transformation of digital religious authority does not result in radical gender emancipation but creates a space for negotiation that allows women to build influence while operating within theological boundaries. The implications are that female preachers need to develop more emancipatory discursive strategies, religious institutions must integrate critical gender perspectives, and audiences need to develop critical literacy for more progressive participation in the construction of contemporary religious meaning.

Abstract

This study analyses the mediation practices undertaken by the Instagram community @cadargarislucu in constructing the religious identity of niqab-wearing women within Indonesia’s digital public sphere. Unlike previous studies that focus on representation and identity, this research examines how media-based agency is employed to transform the meaning of religious symbols through digital practices. The study adopts a qualitative approach by analysing 13 Instagram posts, including videos and carousels, using content analysis and critical discourse analysis. The analysis is conducted in two stages: content analysis to identify themes and message patterns, followed by critical discourse analysis to examine how meaning is constructed through the relationship between text, discursive practices, and social context. The analytical framework integrates Stewart M. Hoover’s theory of religious mediation with Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis to explore the interplay between text, discursive practices, and social context. The findings identify four interrelated forms of mediation practices: first, the appropriation of viral language to construct communicative religious-feminist narratives; second, the utilisation of contemporary issues and digital technology as sources of symbolic culture; third, the negotiation of meaning through the articulation of value-based stances; and fourth the hybridisation of religious-feminist identity as a form of reinterpretation of the niqab. These practices demonstrate that digital agency enables the transformation of the niqab’s meaning from a stigmatised symbol into a representation of empowerment, inclusivity, and religious moderation. These findings underscore the central role of community agency in the construction of religious meaning within digital spaces and contribute to the development of counter-narrative strategies employed by minority groups to challenge dominant discourses on social media.
