Abstract

The onset of disability prevention efforts on lepers who have yet to experience a disability. One of the factors that influence self-care lepers is family participation. The purpose of this research was to prove the relationship family participation with in the prevention of disability lepers. This Design of this research was Analytic korelasionalwith crossectional approach. Population research namely whole leprosy in the outpatient room  atSumberglagah  hospital Pacet Mojokerto as much as 137 survivors. Samples taken with the concecutivesamplingtechnique as much as 20  respondents. There are two research variablewere family participation as the independent variable and the dependent variable as a disability prevention. Data collected by questionnaire instrument. Then the results of and tested with Chi-Square. The results showed that respondents from 11 his family participate in the prevention of disability most respondents can prevent the onset of disability as many as 10 respondents (55%) and 9 (45%) respondents were not able to prevent the occurrence of disability. and 19 respondents whose families participate less mostly not able to prevent the occurrence of defects as much as 11 respondents (55%) and which can prevent the onset of disability 9 respondents (45%). Chi-Square test results retrieved data ρ = 0.008  <α = 0.05 it means H1 accepted so there is a connection With Family participation in the prevention of disability. This shows the more active participation of the family given in lepers will be leprosy will be able to do the prevention of leprosy disability well anyway. So expect more families be active in the care of lepers in the home and can encourage the sufferer to be able to do self care on a regular basis in preventing the onset of disability

Abstract

Spirituality helps the elderly adapt to changes in themselves. The process of healing chronic diseases in the elderly requires good spirituality. However, in reality, many elderly people still have low spirituality. This study considers the factors of spiritual needs of elderly people with chronic illnesses in Indonesia. Descriptive correlation research design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was 210 elderly people taken by purposive sampling. The independent variables studied include age, gender, religion, ethnic group, education, work, history of illness, ADL, and cognitive function. The dependent variable is spiritual needs. The research instrument in the form of the Spiritual Needs Questionnaire (SpNQ). A linear regression test to simultaneously correlate several dependent variables with independent variables by following several modeling assumptions. There is a significant relationship between religious factors (0.01), ethnicity (0.003), cognitive function (0.04), and the spiritual needs of elderly people with chronic diseases (<0.05). The equation obtained from modeling can predict the value of the spirituality needs of elderly people with chronic illnesses. Respondents who have sufficient spiritual needs because they are good at connecting with other people, nature/the environment, and God.

Abstract

Hypertension is known as the "silent killer." Patients are expected to actively engage in self-management behavior to reduce symptoms and the risk of complications. This study aimed to determine the relationship between self-management behavior and blood pressure in productive-aged hypertension patients. The method used was a correlational analytic approach with a cross-sectional design, involving 94 respondents out of a total of 102 through purposive sampling. The instruments used were the hypertension self-management behavior questionnaire and a sphygmomanometer. The results showed that 21 respondents (100%) with good behavior had normal blood pressure, 31 respondents (55.4%) with moderate behavior experienced stage 1 hypertension, and 15 respondents (88.2%) with poor behavior were in stage 2 hypertension. Analysis using Spearman's rank showed a p-value of 0.000<0.05 and an r-value of −0.827. In conclusion, there is a negative relationship between self-management behavior and blood pressure: the better the behavior, the lower the blood pressure.

Abstract

Diabetes is not solely an adult health issue—it has also become a growing concern among school-age children. The rise in childhood obesity has contributed to an increasing incidence of type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents, which now parallels and sometimes surpasses that of type 1 diabetes. Parents need to take proactive steps to prevent this disease by providing accurate information to their children. Children can also gain knowledge through educational approaches aimed at enhancing their cognitive abilities, including through games. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Diabetamon game in improving cognitive skills related to diabetes mellitus prevention among school-age children. This research used a quasi-experimental design with a control group. A total sample of 99 school-age children was divided into an intervention group (47 students) and a control group (52 students), selected using proportional random sampling. The study was conducted over a one-month period, with the intervention delivered twice a week for 60 minutes over three weeks. Data collection instruments included a questionnaire and an observation checklist to assess children’s snack habits. Statistical analysis was performed using paired t-tests to examine within-group changes and independent samples t-tests to compare between-group differences, with a significance level of p<0.05. The results showed that the cognitive abilities of the intervention group improved significantly compared to the control group. The Diabetamon game was proven effective in enhancing school-aged children's knowledge about the importance of consuming fruits and vegetables, in line with the pillars of balanced nutrition and physical activity.

Abstract

Hypertension was an increased in systolic and diastolic blood pressure above normal limits. Age is a factor in hypertension, in old age there is a narrowing of blood vessels resulting in an increase in blood pressure. Treatment of hypertension can be done non-pharmacologically, one of which is slow deep breathing. This study aims to determine the effect of slow deep breathing on blood pressure changes in elderly people with hypertension. The research design used was Pre-Experimental with the One Group Pretest- Posttest Design. The population in this study were all elderly people with hypertension in Garu Hamlet, Podoroto Village, Kec. Kesamben Kab. Jombang as many as 34 elderly. The sample in this study were 34 respondents with the total sampling technique. The research instrument uses a digital sphygmomanometer to measure blood pressure. The results of the Paired T-Test analysis show p value = 0.000 <α 0.05. These results indicate that there is an effect of slow deep breathing on blood pressure changes in the elderly with hypertension in Garu Hamlet, Podoroto Village, Kesamben District, Jombang Regency. Slow deep breathing stimulates the release of endorphins, thereby reducing sympathetic nervous activity and increasing parasympathetic nervous activity which causes a relaxing effect and causes a decrease in blood pressure.
