Abstract

Based on the overall findings of the study, it can be concluded that the decline in shopping interest in Pasar Aceh is not solely due to changes in the lifestyle of modern society, but reflects a fundamental transformation in the way consumers interpret the shopping experience. Consumers are now increasingly considering the aspects of convenience, time efficiency, access to information, and quality of communication in making choices, so traders are required to adapt to these dynamics. Merchants who previously relied only on direct interaction are beginning to understand the importance of communication strategies that are more persuasive, informative, and oriented to consumer needs. The use of digital technology such as WhatsApp, Facebook Marketplace, and Instagram has proven to open up new opportunities to expand the reach of promotions, facilitate transactions, and maintain relationships with customers through faster and more flexible communication. Nonetheless, the social values typical of traditional markets, such as friendliness, familiarity, and trust-based relationships, remain a major force that cannot be completely replaced by technology. In fact, the combination of a humanist social approach and digital innovation is an effective strategy for traders in dealing with increasingly modern, selective, and critical consumer behavior. Thus, the sustainability of the Aceh Market is not only determined by the ability to adopt technology, but also by efforts to maintain the social identity of the market. Therefore, continuous support from the government, market managers, and traders is needed to improve service quality, modernize facilities, and strengthen digital capacity so that the Aceh Market remains relevant and able to compete in the midst of an ever-growing economic transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the leadership communication style displayed by the leader of the oppressed in the film War For The Planet Of The Apes. A qualitative approach with semiotic analysis methods is used to identify and interpret visual, verbal, and nonverbal signs that represent leadership communication practices. The results of this study found that the character Caesar uses a transformative, empathetic, and symbolic communication style in his efforts to unite and lead the ape community in facing human oppression. Nonverbal communication, such as facial expressions, body movements, and eye contact, are central elements in conveying the values of solidarity, steadfastness, and hope. Thus, the study concludes that the leadership communication style displayed in this film not only functions as a coordination tool, but also as a means of forming a collective identity and resistance against the hegemony of the ruler.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of Qawlan Layyinan values in fostering harmonious family relationships within modern households in Darussalam District, Aceh Besar. Qawlan Layyinan, meaning gentle and kind speech, represents an Islamic communication principle that sustains family harmony amidst the challenges of modernization. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving several Muslim families. The findings reveal that soft, empathetic, and compassionate communication plays a crucial role in resolving conflicts and strengthening emotional bonds among family members. The value of Qawlan Layyinan not only reflects ethical speech but also functions as a spiritual strategy for achieving a sakinah, mawaddah, wa rahmah family. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the disaster communication strategies of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Simeulue Regency in mitigating fire crises in East Simeulue District, identify community responses to mitigation messages, and examine the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting the effectiveness of disaster communication. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques thru observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants were purposively selected, including elements from BPBD, village officials, community leaders, and the people of East Simeulue. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, while data validity was tested thru triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. The research results show that the disaster communication strategy of BPBD is carried out thru direct socialization, education, utilization of communication media, delivery of preventive messages, and community involvement in fire mitigation. The community's response to mitigation messages includes cognitive, affective, and conative aspects. The community generally has a positive understanding and attitude, but the implementation of mitigation behaviors is still not optimal. The research concluded that the disaster communication by BPBD has been quite good, but it requires a more participatory and community-based approach to enhance community preparedness and reduce the risk of fires in East Simeulue.
