Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that cause difficulty learning mathematics in the material lines and angles at school and at home.This type of research is qualitative research. Subjects in this study were four students who have difficulty learning math class VIIB SMPN 4 Sindang. In this research, the writer used a technique Bogdan and Biklen?stechniqueto data analysis. The writer also uses triangulation observer, place, time, and theory to examine the validity of the data obtained. Based on the research results and conclusions obtained are students?difficulties in learning mathematics of the lines and anglesmaterial are (a) misunderstanding of the students toward a matter to be determined; (b) ignorance of the students to the concept of lines and angles; (c) students to the inaccuracy of writing symbols (language) mathematics; (d) the inaccuracy of students on mathematical calculations. Meanwhile, the factors that cause students learning difficulties in learning lines and angles material is divided into two factors, namely the internal and external factors. Internal factors (in students) that caused learning difficulties in learning material lines and angles are the students are no interest towards learning mathematics and how/study habits of students. Meanwhile, extern factors (outside thestudents) students' learning difficulties in learning mathematics of the material lines and angles of SMPN 4 Sindang seen through two aspects, namely environmental factors of school and family environments (home).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of perception toward math, ability of understand of symbols, mastery of basic concepts, and learning motivation toward the mastery of instructional materials of mathematics. The sample of study consisted of 181 Junior High School math teacher. Data were gathered using questionnaires and tests. Data were analyzed using path analysis with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The perception toward math as exogenous variable. The ability of understand of symbols, mastery of math basic concepts, and math learning motivation as exogenous or endogenous variable depend on the path diagram. The endogenous variables is the mastery of mathematics instructional  materials. The finding showed that: (a) perception toward math have positive direct effect toward ability of understand of math symbol (?21=0,63); mastery of math basic concepts (?31=50); math learning motivation (?41=0,38); and  mastery of math instructional  materials (?y1=0,21); (b) ability of understand of math symbol  have positive direct effect toward mastery of math basic concepts (?32=0,23); math learning motivation (?42=0,27); and mastery of math instructional  materials (?y2=0,35); (c) mastery of math basic concepts have positive direct effect toward math learning motivation (?43=0,26) and to mastery of  instructional  materials of math  (?y3=0,24); the last (d) math learning motivation have positive direct effect toward mastery of math instructional  materials (?y4=0,24).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan koneksi matematis pada materi segitiga berdasarkan jenis apersepsi Alfa Zone, Mathematical Habits of Mind Level dan interaksi antara jenis apersepsi Alfa Zone dan Mathematical Habits of Mind Level pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan populasi kemampuan koneksi matematis seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Jatibarang tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Sampel kelas diambil sebanyak dua kelas dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random samppling dengan cara diundi. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data ANAVA 2x2 by Level. Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh kesimpulan sebagai berikut: (1) Terdapat perbedaan rata-rata kemampuan koneksi matematis pada materi segitiga berdasarkan pemberian jenis apersepsi Alfa Zone pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD; (2) Tidak terdapat perbedaan rata-rata kemampuan koneksi matematis pada materi segitiga berdasarkan Mathematical Habits of Mind Level Zone pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD; (3) Tidak terdapat perbedaan interaksi kemampuan koneksi matematis pada materi segitiga berdasarkan pemberian jenis apersepsi Alfa Zone dan Mathematical Habits of Mind Level Zone pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD.
