Abstract

The application of the storytelling method in improving language skills in early childhood at RA.Asyuhada' Pamekasan, this approach begins with simple activities, where before the learning process begins the teacher tells stories according to the learning theme and provides opportunities for students to share their stories as well. The method in this study uses a qualitative approach. The research objects used were RA Assyuhada' Pamekasan teachers and students, with data collection techniques using observation data, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of observations, interviews and documentation of researchers at RA Assyuhada' Pamekasan, it was found that the teacher accustomed students to telling what they had done from waking up to going to school. However, if there are students who tell stories for too long, the class conditions are no longer conducive because students feel bored. The use of this storytelling method has advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that children's language skills can improve by listening to motivating stories. However, the weakness is that when telling stories is too monotonous and lasts a long time, children will feel bored and lack concentration Keywords: Story telling method, Language development, Early Childhood Education Abstrak: Penerapan netode bercerita dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa pada anak usia dini di RA.Asyuhada’ Pamekasan, pendekatan ini dimulai dengan kegiatan sederhana, dimana sebelum proses pembelajaran dimulai ustadzah menyampaikan cerita sesuai dengan tema pembelajaran dan memberikan kesempatan kepada murid untuk berbagi cerita mereka juga. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Objek penelitian yang digunakan adalah guru dan siswa RA Assyuhada’ Pamekasan, dengan tekniuk pengumpulan data menggunakan data observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi peneliti di RA Assyuhada’ Pamekasan diperoleh guru membiasakan siswa untuk menceritakan apa yang telah mereka lakukan dari bangun tidur sampai ke sekolah. Namun apabila ada siswa yang bercerita terlalu lama maka kondisi kelas tidak kondusif lagi karena siswa merasa bosan. Penggunaaan metode bercerita ini memiliki kelebihan dan kelemahan. Kelebihannya adalah kemampuyan bahasa anak-anak dapat meningkat denmgan mendengarkan cerita- cerita yang memotivasi. Namun kelemahannya dalah ketika bercerita terlalu monoton dan berlangsung waktu lama, anak- anak akan merasa bosan dan kekurangan konsentrasi
