Abstract: The purpose of this writing is to find out the problems and solutions of prayer times in polar regions in the book Al-Ma'aayiir. The research method in this scientific work uses qualitative methods, where researchers collect data from several books and journals on the topics discussed. In general, there are two ways to determine the entry of prayer time, by calculation (hisab) and by looking at natural phenomena (rukyat). The movement of the sun is easily seen to determine the beginning of the prayer time. However, this sometimes becomes a problem in polar regions where natural conditions are different from areas in the equatorial region. There are several conditions in the polar regions that make it difficult to determine the beginning of prayer time, 1) do not experience the disappearance of mega red until the appearance of dawn, 2) imbalance between day and night, 3) the sun continues to shine for 24 hours or vice versa. Of the three phenomena, scholars perform ijtihad to determine solutions for Muslims living in polar regions and surrounding countries. The scholars revealed that it is mandatory for Muslims to pray five times in accordance with the prescribed Sharia and will be sinned if they abandon this obligation. The solution is to follow prayer times in nearby countries where changes in the signs of entry of prayer times can be identified with baik.
