Abstract

This research was conducted in order to obtain a description of the effect of reward and punishment on student activity in carrying out assignments and student learning outcomes. This article was written using quantitative research, with quasi-experimental research with pre-test product design and post-test control group design. The population in the study were all students of class X SMA Negeri 5 Tana Toraja, and the samples were students of class X1 SMA Negeri 5 Tana Toraja. Activities are carried out by applying actions or controls to the sample. However, before implementing the action, a pre-test was first carried out, then after implementing the action, a post-test was given to determine whether there was a positive effect before and after the action was implemented. Data collection techniques are carried out by observing, namely to find out the activeness of student learning, as well as by testing techniques with the aim of knowing student learning outcomes. Based on the research that has been done, and by looking at the results of data analysis at SPPS which gives a value and Sign test results for student learning activeness of 0.044 < 0.05, and a significance test for student learning outcomes of 0.028 < 0.05. The development of student activity after giving reward and punishment is 15.3%, and the development of student learning outcomes after implementation is 2.1%.
