Abstract

Various cases of violations of school rules show that one of the reasons is because students do not understand the contents of the rules. During this time students tend not to be involved in the formulation of the rules and only become the executor. This study aims to examine student involvement in enforcing school rules. This research was conducted using qualitative methods (field research) in a high school in Banyumas Regency, Central Java. Disciplining students at the school is a challenge in itself because most of the students come from the lower classes. The lower class is synonymous with harsh life demands that make it difficult to manage. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research targets were determined purposively, namely school principals, counseling teachers, and students (OSIS chairmen and students who often violate the rules). The results of the study show that teachers carry out a series of disciplines by collaborating with school organizations such as OSIS, MPK, and other organizational activists in the process of formulating rules through joint forums, dissemination of rules offline and online, supervising students during departures and raids, and assessing student discipline individual or collective (class). Based on this, it can be concluded that the school has provided an open space for students to be involved in disciplinary mechanisms from the formulation to the implementation of school rules.

Abstract

Pendidikan di sekolah melibatkan proses sosialisasi nilai dan norma di antara para siswa yang berasal dari latar belakang kelas sosial yang berbeda. Buku pelajaran merupakan wujud nyata dari pelaksanaan sosialisasi formal yang dipandu oleh kurikulum. Idealnya, substansi buku pelajaran mengakomodasi keragaman siswa. Namun, buku teks pelajaran justru menjadi media sosialisasi habitus (nilai, norma, dan budaya) suatu kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dominasi habitus kelas sosial yang dimuat dalam buku teks elektronik (e-book atau buku sekolah elektronik) berbasis kurikulum 2013 untuk sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis isi kuantitatif dan mengambil sampel secara sensus. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah 51 e-book tematik terpadu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa habitus kelas atas mendominasi kalimat dan gambar pada setiap tema e-book. Habitus kelas atas yang ditampilkan dalam e-book terdiri dari memiliki barang elektronik, orang tua yang gemar membaca, olahraga bersama keluarga, merayakan ulang tahun, memiliki rumah berpagar, tinggal di perumahan, memiliki mobil, bermain mobil-mobilan dan sepatu roda, memiliki kolam renang di rumah, orang tua yang berpendidikan, menggunakan sapaan "kakek, ibu, bapak", mengikuti kursus musik, tari, dan bahasa Inggris, membeli produk impor, menonton di bioskop. Anak-anak memiliki cita-cita: dokter, pilot, arsitek, pelukis, polisi, guru, ahli komputer, dan lain-lain. Di sisi lain, habitus kelas bawah yang ditampilkan dalam buku-buku teks adalah melakukan pekerjaan kelas bawah, bermain permainan tradisional, membantu orang tua, memiliki rumah yang bocor, bekerja keras, dan jujur. Kesimpulannya, buku elektronik berbasis kurikulum 2013 menjadi media untuk mensosialisasikan habitus kelas atas. Kata kunci: buku teks elektronik, habitus, kelas atas, kekerasan simbolik

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to analyse the implementation of student character development in higher education. Through a literature study, this research identifies various efforts made by universities to shape good student character, such as through curriculum, extracurricular activities, and campus environment. The results show that student character development in higher education is very important to produce graduates who not only have academic competence, but also have strong moral and ethical values. However, there are still some challenges in the implementation of character development, such as the lack of integration between theory and practice, and the lack of systematic evaluation.
