Abstract

Measurement of the outcomes becomes a vital part in OBE system to ensure the attainment of each outcome. In Indonesia, OBE was adopted in 2015 for higher education level. However, the changes were not accompanied with clear method to measure the outcomes, which became the urgency of this research. In this study, a preliminary method to measure student learning outcomes (SLO) and course learning outcomes (CLO) was presented. The measurement of SLO and CLO attainment was started by SLO mapping to courses, which usually had been done at curriculum design. Based on the mapping, formulation of CLO with a set of direct assessment was planned at the start of each course. After the teaching learning activities, a series of calculation was designed to obtain the attainment of SLO and CLO for each student, course, and whole study program. In the same time the final mark for GPA calculation of each student could also be obtained. The designed method could play an essential part in teaching-learning quality assurance and curriculum continuous improvement, which is aligned with both international and national accreditation criteria and standards. Furthermore, this study could provide insight for other study program in SLO and CLO attainment measurement.

Abstract

The visual secret sharing (VSS) scheme is a method to maintain the confidentiality of a se-cret image by sharing it to some number participants. A (k, n) VSS divides the secret images into n parts, that are called shadows ; to recover the secret back, k shadows should be stacked. Some methods have been developed to implement VSS for color images. However, the methods are only suitable for images with limited number of colors. When more colors are used, the resulted stacked shadow image becomes unclear. Besides that, the size of the shadows becomes bigger as more colors are used. We develop a new method implementing the VSS using the RGB color system. Using our method, the problem related to the unclear stacked shadow image can be overcome.

Abstract

Bebras Challenge (BC) is an international challenge/competition aimed at promoting computational thinking and informatics among school-age students. The implementation of BC in Indonesia has shown that elementary school students’ performance is not yet optimal. This study aims to analyze the appropriateness of the difficulty level of the 2020 Indonesian BC tasks for elementary school students (SiKecil and Siaga categories), as well as to identify words that may hinder students’ comprehension of the BC tasks. The research was conducted through two stages of review involving 27 BC 2020 tasks and eighteen elementary school teachers from diverse backgrounds. The teachers were asked to evaluate the level of task attractiveness, the clarity of the problem statements, the clarity of the solution explanations, and the appropriateness of the difficulty level. They were also invited to provide feedback on vocabulary that might be difficult for students to understand. The statistical analysis indicates that, overall, the difficulty levels of the tasks were appropriate for the intended age categories. However, several terms—both informatics-related and general terms such as horizontal, vertical, and intersecting—were found to potentially hinder students’ comprehension of the BC tasks. Revisions to the BC tasks and their explanations were shown to improve comprehension levels for most of the problems. This study contributes by recommending the involvement of elementary school teachers in reviewing translated tasks before their nationwide implementation and by providing an evaluative basis for improving the quality of Indonesian BC tasks at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This research presents a secure digital-signature framework for document authentication using QR Codes, combining three modern cryptographic primitives: RSA 2048-bit for digital signing, SHA-256 for document-integrity verification, and password-based AES encryption to protect the signer’s private key. The system addresses a recurring limitation in previous QR-Code-based signature schemes—the absence of secure private-key storage—by deriving AES keys from user passwords and salts, ensuring that RSA private keys are never stored in plaintext. A web-based implementation was developed to support user registration, signature generation, and document verification, requiring only a PDF file and the associated password from users. Functional testing demonstrates that the system accurately authenticates signer identities, detects any modification to document content, identifies incorrect document numbers, and rejects invalid or non-signature QR Codes. These results confirm that the combination of RSA 2048, SHA-256 hashing, and password-derived AES encryption effectively ensures confidentiality of private keys while preserving document integrity and authenticity. The approach also prevents common forgery scenarios, including document substitution, unauthorized content changes, and QR Code misuse.
