Abstract

This paper delves into the concept of the relationship between nature and humans from an Islamic perspective. This relationship portrays how humans, as stewards (khalifah), bear the responsibility of preserving and nurturing the environment in line with religious and ethical values. In the Quran and Hadith, there are directives emphasizing the importance of maintaining a balance between humans and nature, while also underscoring the role of humans as caretakers of the Earth. The creation of the universe by Allah showcases its beauty and diversity, with humans elevated as stewards tasked with judiciously safeguarding and utilizing nature. This concept provides guidance on sustainable management and environmental protection. The Quranic verses and the Hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad underline the significance of caring for nature, avoiding wastefulness of resources, and preserving ecological balance. Islam's perspective on humans as stewards emphasizes moral responsibility and ethics in treating nature with a deep sense of duty. By adhering to these teachings, humans can fulfill their role as custodians of the Earth in a wise and sustainable manner.

Abstract

This research discusses the role of Pancasila as an ideological foundation in the practice of religious moderation in Indonesia. As a country with various ethnicities, religions and cultures, Indonesia faces complex challenges in maintaining social harmony. This pluralism has both positive and negative impacts on society. In this context, religious moderation is an important approach to maintaining religious diversity in harmony. Pancasila, as the state ideology, has values that support the practice of religious moderation, with a focus on inclusivity, tolerance and interfaith dialogue. Conformity between Pancasila values and the principles of religious moderation in creating harmony is carried out through the integration of Pancasila values with the principles of religious moderation. This forms the basis of peaceful, inclusive and harmonious religious practice in a diverse society. Steps towards the future to integrate more firmly the values of Pancasila in the development of religious moderation in Indonesia involve the role of educational institutions and the media. Educational institutions can play an important role in shaping an open and inclusive attitude in the younger generation, while the media can promote Pancasila values and religious moderation to the wider community. Pancasila as the basic ideology of the state supports the practice of religious moderation in Indonesia and can be used in facing the challenges of radicalism and extremism.

Abstract

This study investigates the impacts of deforestation on biodiversity and ecosystems. Through literature analysis and recent research, the intricate relationship between deforestation and changes in species populations, genetic diversity, and ecosystem functions is revealed. Deforestation, as the widespread removal of forests, leads to habitat alterations for various plant and animal species. Habitat loss jeopardizes endemic species and potentially leads to the extinction of species dependent on forests. Habitat fragmentation also occurs due to deforestation, dividing ecosystems into isolated segments. This disrupts species movement and migration, impacting ecosystem dynamics. Bird migration, for example, is disrupted by deforestation, potentially causing population decline and changes in migration behavior. In terms of its ecosystem impact, deforestation disrupts nutrient cycles and alters the climate. Lost forests reduce carbon sequestration, leading to carbon emissions and influencing global climate change. The water cycle is also affected, raising the risk of floods or droughts. Deforestation can lead to soil erosion, mudslides, and disruptions in predator-prey balances. Furthermore, landscape changes due to deforestation can trigger microclimate shifts and disrupt species' adaptation to change. The results of this study indicate that the effects of deforestation are not confined to biodiversity alone but extend to complex ecosystem functions. This research underscores the need for forest preservation and conservation efforts to maintain ecological balance and future sustainability.
