Abstract

Abstract: Bearing capacity of pile foundation based on soil mechanics theory, should be checked by conducting pole test to assure the result. One of the pole tests performed is the Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) Test. This study compares the value of SPT support capacity using 3 methods, Meyerhof Method, Poulos Davis, and Luciano Decourt with the result of PDA Test bearing capacity and know the formula of calculation of SPT bearing capacity closest to PDA Test result. The value of bearing capacity (Qu) of single mast pile foundation computed by the Meyerhoff and Luciano Decourt Methods using SPT data is close to the bearing capacity of the PDA Test. So SPT bearing capacity is to be able to predict the bearing capacity of the foundation well. While the Poulos Davis method is far from other methods because it does not take into account the correction of N-SPT value. The value of the bearing capacity of the PDA results is relatively greater because of the time of drilling the pile, the shape of the pile wall is not uniform so that the pole end and the shaft of the pole increases and causes the bearing capacity becomes larger. The method that most closely approximates Qu PDA is Meyerhof Method, there are three points where the difference of the small bearing capacity value. This is because the Meyerhof Method corrected the N-SPT value. Keywords: Bored Pile Bearing Capacity, SPT Bearing Capacity, PDA Test .

Abstract

Drainage on the Lekso River in Blitar City is experiencing various problems, such as clogged channels, damage to infrastructure, and accumulation of garbage. Based on these problems, community service activities were carried out with the aim of assisting Drainage Maintenance on the Lekso River, Blitar City. The method used in this service is identification of drainage problems and needs through field surveys and consultations with relevant authorities and outreach to the community regarding the importance of maintaining good drainage and environmental management. As a result of this community service, the community receives training and education assistance for the community regarding proper drainage maintenance techniques, such as channel cleaning, infrastructure repair, and waste management. In addition, the local community carried out drainage cleaning and repair activities together with the guidance and supervision of the community service team.

Abstract

This study analyzes the compliance of the lighting utility system in the library of SMP Negeri 4 Malang City against the Indonesian National Standard SNI 6197:2011. A quantitative descriptive method with a case study approach was employed, using direct lux meter measurements at 80 grid points (A1–H10) conducted between 13:00 and 15:00 under clear weather conditions to capture optimal natural lighting data. Results indicate that illuminance levels range from 135.40 lux to 355.50 lux; however, the distribution is highly non-uniform. Only Zone A, located nearest to the primary openings, consistently meets the 300 lux minimum standard, while more than 75% of the measured area falls below this threshold and is classified as under-lit. Contributing factors include restricted natural light penetration, a solid wall on the eastern façade blocking that light path, and dense interior shelving that obstructs light propagation toward central and rear zones. The study concludes that the current lighting system does not fully satisfy SNI 6197:2011 requirements, and recommends the addition of artificial lighting fixtures, optimization of interior furniture layout, and enhancement of façade opening design to improve visual comfort for library users

Abstract

The limited supply of clean water in urban areas necessitates the development of efficient and sustainable alternative solutions. Rainwater harvesting is a promising approach to reduce dependence on conventional clean water sources in multi-story buildings. This study aims to assess the potential of rainwater haversting as a substitute for non-potable water needs in multi-stoty office buildings in urban areas. The methods employed include ten year rainfall data analysis (2013-2023), effective rooftop area calculation, storage volume situation, and building water demand analysis. The result indicate that with an effective roof area of 1.200 m2 and an avarge annual rainfall of 2.100 mm, the rainwater haversting system can fulfill 42-67% of non-potable water demands, primarily for toilet flushing, garden irrigation, and fire supression. Economic analysis reveals a payback period of 6 year 8 month with annual water cost savings of IDR 18.400.000,00. This research contributes of the development of green buildings and water conservation in urban environments.

Abstract

The library is one of the key facilities in the student learning process that requires an adequate physical environment, particularly regarding noise levels and lighting intensity. This study aims to analyze the suitability of noise levels and lighting intensity in the library of an elementary school in Malang City based on applicable quality standards. Measurements were taken at 30 observation points at 20-minute intervals, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, using a sound level meter and a lux meter. The reference standards used were SNI 03-6386-2000 for noise levels (≤55 dBA for reading rooms) and SNI 03-6197-2000 for lighting intensity (≥300 lux for library reading rooms). The analysis results showed that most measurement points did not meet the minimum lighting standards, while most noise levels exceeded the permissible thresholds. This study provides recommendations for improvement, including the addition of artificial light sources and the use of sound-absorbing materials to enhance the comfort of the library reading room.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of climatic conditions, occupant behavior patterns, and their implications for the design of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in residential buildings in the coastal subtropical region of Momochihama, Fukuoka. Using a descriptive qualitative literature review method, the research explores extreme environmental challenges such as high humidity and salt aerosol exposure. The findings indicate that the fluctuating subtropical climate necessitates the use of adaptive technologies such as Air-Source Heat Pumps and Energy Recovery Ventilation (ERV) for energy efficiency and humidity control. Furthermore, Japanese hygiene culture increases water and energy demands on plumbing and electrical systems. Design implications include the use of non-corrosive materials (PVC/HDPE) and stainless steel (SUS 316) to ensure material durability. System resilience is enhanced through the implementation of microgrids with battery energy storage and rainwater harvesting as strategies against extreme weather disasters. In conclusion, effective MEP design in subtropical coastal areas must synergize material resistance, understanding of local cultural behavior, and smart technology to achieve sustainable energy efficiency and thermal comfort.
