Abstract

Islam is a religion of da'wah, where the Islamic religion itself encourages its adherents to always be active in spreading the religion of Islam. The progress or decline of Muslims really depends on how they preach. Da'wah itself can be done verbally, bil-qalam, bil hal and also in forums as long as the aim is to invite goodness and commands of Allah SWT and to imitate the Prophet Muhammad. Through modern art filled with prayers praising Rasullulah accompanied by hadroh music, it will attract teenagers in general in increasing the religious activities carried out by the El-Fata Hadroh Group. This research starts from a background where before the hadroh appeared or was formed, teenagers were still lacking in enlivening the mosque, but after the hadroh appeared, the teenagers began to be interested in joining the hadroh community. After these teenagers join, they are easier to direct, and know the extent to which hadroh has been used as a medium for youth da'wah in fostering a spirit of religious activity in Mantiasa Village, Batang Suntai Hamlet, West Tebing Tinggi District. This research uses qualitative research. Data collection uses observation, interviews and documentation methods. Through interview and observation methods, it is known that the main subjects to be researched are teenagers who are members of the Hadroh El-Fata group. From the results of research conducted by researchers, it shows that the teenagers of Mantiasa Village, Batang Suntai Hamlet are enthusiastic about carrying out religious activities. Abstract

This study examines the relevance of Muhammad Iqbal's Islamic philosophical thought to Islamic education in the modern era. Iqbal, as one of the greatest thinkers of the Islamic world, made a significant contribution to the understanding of the relationship between religion, education, and intellectual progress. In his view, education is not only aimed at creating technically skilled individuals, but also to shape character and deepen spirituality. Iqbal's thought emphasizes the importance of integration between science, faith, and the formation of self-awareness (selfhood) in the Islamic context. This paper will identify several key concepts in Iqbal's educational philosophy, such as the concept of "Khudi" (self-awareness), the development of human potential, and thoughts on the role of religion in intellectual progress. This type of research is a qualitative literature research that examines theory in depth to get conclusions. The results of this study show that the relevance of these ideas is analyzed in the context of Islamic education today, which is faced with the challenges of globalization, technological advancement, and cultural pluralism. It is hoped that the results of this analysis can provide new insights for the development of more relevant and holistic Islamic education in the modern era, which is able to bridge the gap between traditional Islamic values and the needs of contemporary society

Abstract

This article delves into the realm of Islamic thought, specifically exploring the domain of Kalam, often referred to as the science of theological discourse. Kalam, literally meaning "words," involves the intricate debates among Islamic theologians who skillfully wield words to defend their beliefs. It encompasses the study of Islamic theology or Ushuluddin, focusing on the foundational teachings of the religion. The pursuit of theological knowledge provides individuals with fundamental convictions that are resilient against easy wavering. As the narrative unfolds, it addresses the emergence of differences within the Islamic community. Initially rooted in political realms, these differences gradually evolve into theological issues over time. The theological variances among Muslims manifest both practically and theoretically. Theoretical distinctions surface through debates on various issues, with philosophical aspects taking precedence over matters such as the oneness of Allah, faith in prophets, angels, the Day of Judgment, and the teachings of the Prophet that are deemed beyond dispute. This study directs attention to the Jabariyah theological school as a focal point. The term "Jabariyah" linguistically stems from "jabara," signifying coercion. In theological terms, Jabariyah rejects human agency, attributing all actions to Allah. It posits that humans act out of compulsion, emphasizing the absolute authority and will of Allah. The theological discourse of Jabariyah revolves around the interplay between human actions and divine acts, pondering the extent to which humans are subject to the absolute will and power of Allah. The research methodology employed in this article is literature review, gathering insights from various books, articles, and journals. A critical descriptive approach is adopted, prioritizing the analysis of data sources. The investigation draws from articles and journals authored by education experts with relevant experience. The article elucidates the unclear origins of Jabariyah, with divergent views on its inception. Scholars posit its emergence during the era of the companions of Prophet Muhammad and the Umayyad Caliphate, intertwined with discussions on Qadar (predestination) and human agency in the face of Allah's absolute power. Others suggest its roots predate Islam, influenced by the challenging environment of the Arabian desert. The implications of Jabariyah's doctrine in shaping social character are explored in the context of contemporary society marked by rapid advancements in science and technology. The article contends that theological teachings must compete with other disciplines in influencing human understanding. It argues that the static nature of Jabariyah fosters a sense of human powerlessness and dependency on the absolute will of Allah, potentially hindering progress. In conclusion, the article reflects on the impact of Jabariyah's doctrine, noting its potential to engender a static mindset and hinder societal progress by emphasizing human dependency on the will of Allah. This theological perspective, seen as a response to the freedom-oriented Qadariyah school, contends that creatures have no capacity to shape their lives but merely fulfill what Allah has decreed.

Abstract

This article discusses the contribution of Mu'tazilah thought in the context of Islam in Indonesia. Kalam science or the study of theology is in the spotlight in discussing divine concepts in Islamic teachings. The author reviews the role of the Mu'tazilah as one of the schools that uses rationality in Islamic theological thought, examining the five main principles in their teachings: monotheism, God's justice, promises and threats, the position between two positions, and amar makruf nahi ungkar. The research method uses literature study with a critical descriptive approach. The results reveal the contribution of the Mu'tazilah to Islamic thought in Indonesia, with an emphasis on the concepts of monotheism, God's justice, promises and threats, as well as their important role in modern thought. Mu'tazilah thought is also associated with its influence on Indonesian thinkers, such as Harun Nasution, who fought for the renewal of Islamic thought and an emphasis on rationality in understanding religion. The implications of Mu'tazilah thought include efforts to build rational awareness in the Islamic religion, reinvigorate ijtihad, educational reform, and changes in political structures. The conclusion is that the Mu'tazilah understanding of rationality has made an important contribution to Islamic thought in Indonesia, strengthening an inclusive and open thinking approach to developments of the times and science.

Abstract

Mu'tazilah is one of the theological schools in Islam that emerged in the 8th century AD. This school is known for its emphasis on rationality and logic in understanding religious teachings. The relationship of Mu'tazilah to kalam, which is the science of theological argumentation, is very significant, because Mu'tazilah played a pioneering role in the development of the kalam method. They attempted to explain and defend Islamic beliefs through rational argumentation, touching on issues such as God's justice, His attributes, and human freedom. The role of Mu'tazilah in the history of Islamic thought cannot be separated from their contribution in forming philosophical and theological dialogue. They attempted to bridge the gap between revelation and reason, emphasizing that human reason can be used to understand religious truths. In this context, Mu'tazilah developed important concepts such as tawhid (the oneness of God), adalat (God's justice), and al-wa'd wa al- wa'id (promise and threat). Although this school declined in influence after the 10th century, Mu'tazilite thought continued to have a profound impact on the Islamic intellectual tradition and influenced many subsequent theological schools. Thus, the Mu'tazilites are not only an important part of the history of Islamic theology, but also show how rationality can interact with faith in a spiritual context
