Abstract

The main purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of the community in making aromatherapy candles with the addition of sweet orange essential oil in Dusun Seri, Urimessing Village, Nusaniwe District, Ambon City. The target of this activity is the community of Dusun Seri, Urimessing Village, while the methods used are counseling, training/practice and evaluation. Based on the results of observations and questionnaires, there was an increase in public knowledge about the efficacy of aromatherapy candles, the benefits of essential oils, and the technique of making essential oil-based aromatherapy candles. The public received new information about the use of aromatherapy candles as an easy and inexpensive relaxation medium. In addition, the community has new skills in making aromatherapy candles made from the aroma of sweet orange essential oil. Through this activity, it can also improve public health because by inhaling the aroma of aromatherapy candles, it will make the mind calm and reduce anxiety. This service activity was able to motivate participants to make aromatherapy candles for use with their families. Participants were very enthusiastic about this activity from beginning to end.

Abstract

The purpose of implementing this service activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of the community in processing mango golek into fruit leather products in Mornaten Village, Taniwel District, West Seram Regency, Maluku Province. The target of this activity is aimed at the people of Mornaten Village. The methods used include counseling, training and evaluation activities. Through outreach activities, the community was given knowledge about the technology of processing mango golek into fruit leather products. Meanwhile, training activities are carried out by demonstrating directly to the community the technique of processing mango golek fruit leather. Based on the results of the service activities, it can be concluded that the purpose of the implementation of this service activity has been achieved and succeeded. The results of the evaluation showed that there was an increase in people's knowledge and skills about processing technology for mango golek fruit leather. This activity received a positive response from the community, this can be seen from the enthusiasm of the community during this activity.

Abstract

Maluku has a productive prospect in producing durian fruit. In the durian season, durian seed waste is very abundant and has not been widely used, on the other hand, durian seeds have good nutritional content for the body. This service activity aims to introduce the technology of processing durian seed waste into chips to the people of Eti Village, West Seram District, West Seram Regency. The target of this activity is Eti Village community. Activities are carried out in the form of: (1) counseling; (2) training; and (3) program evaluation. The results of the community service programs that have been carried out are 1) Aspects of applying science and technology: this activity is effective in building community independence in utilizing local potential, namely durian seed waste to be processed into processed products; 2) Benefit aspect: increasing people's knowledge and skills in processing durian seeds into chips so as to provide added value and use value to durian seeds. The enthusiasm of the participants in participating in this activity is also very good, which can be seen from the enthusiasm of the participants in participating in this activity from beginning to end.

Abstract

Virgin coconut oil (VCO) is known and believed to be the healthiest oil in the world because it contains medium chain fatty acids which contribute to health. However, the process of making VCO is not yet familiar to the community, especially in Ouw Village, East Saparua District, Central Maluku Regency. Even though the potential for coconuts in this village is quite abundant. The aim of this service activity is to provide information and knowledge to the people of Ouw Village, East Saarua District, Central Maluku Regency about the technology for processing coconuts into VCO. This community service activity was attended by 45 housewives and young women. Activities are carried out in the form of counseling and evaluation. The outreach activities carried out received a positive response from participants. People are very happy to gain knowledge about the technology for making VCO as a healthy product and are enthusiastic about making it themselves and consuming it by their own families.
