<![CDATA[The Indonesian National Police plays a crucial role in maintaining security and public order. To meet the increasingly complex law enforcement needs, several specialized police units have been established with specific tasks and functions in various fields, such as forestry, narcotics, or cybercrime. However, in carrying out their duties, these specialized police units are required to comply with the technical guidance provided by the National Police. Therefore, this research aims to examine the implementation of specialized police units in accordance with Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police and the legal consequences if these units fail to adhere to the technical guidance. Based on a juridical-empirical study, it can be determined that the implementation of specialized police units in the perspective of Law Number 2 of 2002 has created a legal framework that provides a strong foundation for the development, supervision, and disciplinary enforcement of these units. However, continuous efforts are needed to ensure alignment between the implementation of specialized police units and the legal objectives that are intended to be achieved. In the context of the legal consequences, if specialized police units do not adhere to the provided technical guidance, it is permissible. This is because the main task of the Indonesian National Police is to coordinate, supervise, and provide technical guidance to these specialized units. Therefore, although specialized police units have specific tasks and functions, they are not subject to the general laws and regulations governing the police force. Each specialized unit is subject to the laws and regulations that govern their respective tasks and functions, such as the specialized forestry police unit being subject to forestry regulations. Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia memiliki peran penting dalam menjaga keamanan dan ketertiban masyarakat. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan penegakan hukum yang semakin kompleks, beberapa unit kepolisian khusus telah dibentuk dengan tugas dan fungsi khusus dalam bidang tertentu, seperti kehutanan, narkotika, atau cybercrime. Namun, dalam pelaksanaan tugasnya, polisi khusus perlu mengikuti arahan pembinaan teknis yang ditetapkan oleh Kepolisian. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini akan mengkaji mengenai implementasi polisi khusus yang sesuai dengan Undang-Undang Nomor 2 Tahun 2002 tentang Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia. Dilanjutkan dengan bagaimana konsekuensi hukum jika polisi khusus dalam pelaksanaan tugas dan fungsi tidak sesuai dengan arahan pembinaan teknis. Berdasarkan kajian penelitian yuridis empiris, maka dapat diketahui bahwa implementasi polisi khusus dalam perspektif Undang-Undang Nomor 2 Tahun 2002 tentang Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia dapat dikatakan telah menciptakan kerangka hukum yang memberikan landasan kuat bagi pembinaan, pengawasan, dan penegakan disiplin terhadap polisi khusus. Namun, berbagai upaya juga harus terus dilakukan untuk memastikan kesesuaian antara implementasi polisi khusus dan tujuan hukum yang ingin dicapai. Dalam konteks konsekuensi hukum, jika polisi khusus tidak menjalankan arahan pembinaan teknis yang diberikan oleh Kepolisian adalah diperbolehkan. Hal tersebut dikarenakan tugas pokok dari Kepolisian Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia bertugas melakukan koordinasi, pengawasan, dan pembinaan teknis terhadap kepolisian khusus. Jadi meskipun polisi khusus memiliki tugas dan fungsi yang khusus, mereka tidak tunduk pada peraturan perundang-undangan yang mengatur kepolisian secara umum. Kepolisian khusus juga tunduk pada peraturan perundang-undangan yang mengatur pada tugas dan fungsi polisi khusus tersebut.
