Hal ini terkait dengan makna konservasi itu sendiri yang tidak sekedar berkonotasi fisik, akan tetapi lebih luas adalah nilai dan budaya. Nilai-nilai konservasi termanifestasikan dalam interaksi kehidupan sehari-hari, dengan bersendikan tiga pilar penting, yaitu protection, preservation, dan sustainable use. Nilai dan budaya yang terbingkai oleh tiga pilar konservasi tersebut akan memancarkan sendi- sendi kehidupan yang bisa dijadikan dasar pembangunan karakter. Diharapkan melalui formula demikian akan tertanam dalam pribadi para mahasiswa, karakter yang dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara.
