Abstract

Kandungan karbon dan tanin dalam ampas kopi dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan dasar tinta spidol whiteboard. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh variasi konsentrasi arang ampas kopi terhadap sifat fisika tinta yaitu densitas, viskositas, dan tingkat keabuan dalam pembuatan tinta spidol whiteboard. Pembuatan pigmen dilakukan dengan cara karbonisasi ampas kopi dan penyaringan dengan screen mesh. Proses pembuatan tinta dilakukan dengan mencampurkan pigmen karbon ampas kopi dengan bahan-bahan pembuat tinta yaitu gum arab, aquades, alkohol, dan PEG. Proses pembuatan tinta dilakukan dengan variasi konsentrasi arang ampas kopi ri 15-40% dengan interval kenaikan 5% terhadap volume total tinta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan konsentrasi arang ampas kopi berpengaruh terhadap nilai densitas, viskositas, dan tingkat keabuan tinta yang dihasilkan. Semakin tinggi konsentrasi arang ampas kopi maka semakin tinggi pula nilai densitas, viskositas, dan tingkat keabuan tinta. Kondisi optimum yang memenuhi Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) adalah tinta dengan nilai densitas 0,95 g/cm3, nilai viskositas 1,14 cP, tingkat keabuan 80%, serta memiliki daya hapus yang sesuai sebagai tinta spidol whiteboard adalah tinta dengan konsentrasi arang ampas kopi 30%.Carbon content and tannins in coffee grounds can be utilized as a base material ink marker whiteboard. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of coagulation concentration variation of coffee to physical physics of ink namely density, viscosity, and gray level in making ink marker whiteboard. Pigment production is done by carbonization of coffee grounds and screening by screen mesh. The process of making the ink is done by mixing carbon pigments of coffee grounds with ink-making materials such as gum arab, aquades, alcohol, and PEG. The ink-making process is carried out by variation in the concentration of 15-40% ri-ri oil with an interval of 5% increase to the total ink volume. The results showed that the addition of the dregs coffee concentration effect on the value of density, viscosity, and gray level of ink produced. The higher the concentration of the coffee grounds, the higher the density, viscosity, and gray ink levels. Optimum conditions that meet the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) are inks with a density value of 0.95 g / cm3, a viscosity value of 1.14 cP, a gray level of 80%, as well as having an appropriate discharge power as the ink marker whiteboard is ink with charcoal dregs concentration coffee 30%.
