Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that around 16 billion needle sticks are used worldwide each year, if safety precautions are not followed, the risk of injury from sharps increases among paramedics. This study aims to determine the factors related to the behavior of health workers towards the handling of sharp waste at the Ernaldi Bahar Hospital, South Sumatra Province 2023. The design of this study was quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all health workers who handled sharp waste as many as 169 respondents using the Total Sampling technique. The sample in this study was 169 people. This research was carried out from 18 May 2023 to 29 May 2023. Data collection used a questionnaire. Bivariate data analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p value 0.010), attitude (p value 0.005), training (p value 0.010) towards Sharp Medical Waste Handling at Ernaldi Bahar Hospital, South Sumatra Province in 2023. There was no relationship between age (p value 0, 76), gender (p value 0.44), education (p value 0.86) and years of service (p value 0.161) on the Handling of Sharp Medical Waste at Ernaldi Bahar Hospital, South Sumatra Province in 2023. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between knowledge, attitudes and training, there is no relationship between age, gender, education and years of service for handling sharp medical waste at Ernaldi Bahar Hospital, South Sumatra Province in 2023. There is a need for continuous planning and training

Abstract

The 2018 Riskesdas shows that the prevalence of hypertension increases with age. A significant increase occurred in the 55-64 year age group, which increased from 3.88% at the age of 45-54 years to 6.29%. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of hypertension in the elderly at the Sukarami Health Center, Sungai Rotan District, Muara Enim Regency in 2023. The design of this study was a quantitative cross-sectional approach. The population in this study is the people who seek treatment at the Sukarami Health Center, Sungai Rotan District, Muara Enim Regency in 2023 totaling 2,968 respondents. The sample in this study amounted to 97 respondents. How to take samples using purposive sampling. This research was carried out from June 20 2023 to July 5 2023. Data collection used a questionnaire. Bivariate data analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between age (p value 0,000), body weight (p value 0,000) and the role of officers (p value 0,000) with the incidence of hypertension in the elderly at the Sukarami Community Health Center, Sungai Rotan District, Muara Enim Regency in 2023. There was no relationship between gender (p value 0,821), smoking status (p value 1,000) and diabetes mellitus with the incidence of hypertension in the elderly at the Sukarami Health Center, Sungai Rotan District, Muara Enim Regency in 2023. Abstract

Acute respiratory infections are responsible for nearly 20% of all deaths in children younger than 5 years worldwide. The purpose of this study was to find out the description of the relationship with the incidence of acute respiratory infections in children under five at the Pangkalan Balai District Health Center, Banyuasin Regency in 2023. The design of this study was a quantitative cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all parents of children under five who visited the Pangkalan Balai Health Center in 2022, namely 4280 respondents. Sampling using slovin theory. The sample in this study amounted to 98 respondents. How to take samples using purposive sampling. This research was carried out on June 6, 2023 to July 6, 2023. Data was collected using a questionnaire. Bivariate data analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p value 0.016), and smoking (p value 0.001) with the incidence of ARI in children under five at the Pangkalan Balai Health Center, Banyuasin Regency in 2023. There was no relationship between gender (p value 0.685), occupation (p value 5,599) and water sources (p value 1,000) with the incidence of ARI in children under five at the Pangkalan Balai Health Center, Banyuasin Regency in 2023. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between knowledge and smoking, there is no relationship between gender, occupation and water source with the incidence of ARI in children under five at the Pangkalan Balai Health Center in Banyuasin Regency in 2020. It is hoped that health workers will provide counseling about.

Abstract

Hypertension is high blood pressure where the systolic blood pressure is 140 mmHg or the diastolic blood pressure is 90 mmHg. This study aims to determine the factors associated with medication adherence in elderly hypertensive patients at the Tanjung Sakti Pumi Health Center in 2023. The design of this study was a quantitative cross-sectional approach. The population in this study is all patient visits at the Tanjung Sakti Pumi Health Center in 2022, namely 1166 respondents. Sampling using slovin theory. The sample in this study amounted to 92 people. How to take samples using purposive sampling. This research was carried out from 18 May 2023 to 29 May 2023. Data collection used a questionnaire. Bivariate data analysis using the Chi-Square test.The results showed that there was a relationship between age (p value 0.001), knowledge (p value 0.032), family support (p value 0.0370 with medication adherence in elderly hypertensive patients at the Tanjung Sakti Pumi Health Center in 2023. There was no gender relationship (p value 1.00), history of hypertension (p value 0.63) and history of comorbidities with adherence to taking medication in elderly hypertensive patients at the Tanjung Sakti Pumi Health Center in 2023.There is a need for efforts to increase knowledge as well as conduct education, outreach and strengthen the elderly Posyandu in the Puskesmas area.

Abstract

Antenatal Care (ANC) is a health service for pregnant women in the months and weeks before birth which aims to develop pregnant women and their fetuses. This study aims to determine the factors of age, parity, occupation, knowledge, attitudes and family support related to Antenatal Care (ANC) visits at the Mariana Health Center in 2023,. The research design is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study is pregnant women seeking treatment at Mariana in 2022, which is 16354 respondents. Sampling using slovin theory. The sample in this study amounted to 99 people. How to take samples using purposive sampling. Data collection for this research was carried out from June 05 2023 to June 19 2023. Data collection was carried out using a Likert scale questionnaire. Bivariate data analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between parity (p value 0.035), knowledge (p value 0.022), family support (p value 0.011) and Antenatal Care (ANC) visits at the Mariana Health Center in 2023. There was no relationship between age (p value 0.801), occupation (p value 0.423) and attitudes (p value 0.190) with Antenatal Care (ANC) visits at the Mariana Health Center in 2023. There is a need for efforts to increase knowledge and motivation for family participation in antenatal care visits.
