Abstract

WHO data in 2014 noted that ovarian cancer occupies the fourth highest incidence position in women after cervical cancer, breast cancer, and uterine corpus cancer. Research data at Dharmais Hospital Jakarta in 2019 stated that ovarian cancer was the third leading cause of death; of cancer in women after breast cancer and cervical cancer by 7.84%. Based on the data obtained, the types of ovarian tumours are varying and the number of deaths caused by ovarian tumours increases every year, so the researchers wanted to obtain comparative data on patients with ovarian tumours at Bethesda Hospital Yogyakarta and an overview of events based on age, histopathological types of benign ovarian tumours, and types of malignant tumours histopathology. ovaries. This study aims to determine the relationship between age and various types of histopathology of benign tumours and malignant ovarian tumours at Bethesda Hospital Yogyakarta. The method used is an analytic description with a cross sectional research design. Of the 122 data, the histopathological types of benign ovarian tumours were 51.6% which occurred in 63 patients and histopathological types of malignant ovarian tumours were 48.4% which occurred in 59 patients. The results obtained from the Chi-Square test stated there is a relationship between age and type of ovarian tumour shown from the spss output <0.05 which is significantly significant (OR: 6.176; 95% CI: 2.526-15.101). Medical record data at Bethesda Hospital Yogyakarta in the 2019 period showed that there was a significant relationship between age and histopathological types of ovarian tumours.
