Abstract

Technology is becoming a tool to improve human performance, especially in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, which is currently developing rapidly. The connectedness of various systems through the internet has led Indonesia to have 212.9 million internet users, covering 77% of the total population, with 78.5% of them active on social media. This phenomenon has brought about unprecedented growth in collecting and storing personal data that should be watched out for. Protecting personal data is essential, especially as internet users grow, increasing individuals' vulnerability to cybercrime. From 2022 to 2023, scams via WhatsApp messages manipulated with malicious attachments of images or links have become prevalent. To overcome this challenge, MTI UAD, in collaboration with the Regional Leadership of 'Aisyiyah Alor Regency, organized a digital literacy seminar to increase mothers' knowledge about the importance of protecting personal data in the digital world to minimize the risk of fraud. As a result, after attending the seminar, participants' knowledge increased significantly from under 50% to around 73%. Personal data protection efforts include sharing information, avoiding receiving files or applications from unknown sources, social engineering, and installing applications only from trusted sources.

Abstract

Purpose: This research was conducted to respond to obstacles and inefficiencies in the new student registration system at RA Plus Rabbani. Currently, the conventional method of using physical documents for registration is vulnerable to damage and data loss. Therefore, the proposed solution is implementing a website-based online registration system using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method. This aims to simplify the process, increase accessibility for prospective students, and reduce the costs and time required. Methods: This research commenced by identifying constraints within the conventional student registration system at RA Plus Rabbani through observations and interviews. The development, following the RAD methodology, involved testing with PHPUnit and Blackbox Testing to ensure the functionality of the system aligned with specifications. In addition, usability evaluation was conducted based on the ISO 9126 standard.Result: The research results show that testing on MVC indicated a 100% success rate for each architectural feature. Referring to expectations with a “valid” conclusion on functionality using Blackbox testing, based on ISO 9126 percentage displayed, it is known that the criterion with the most significant value is the understandability characteristic with a value of 83%. Novelty: This research makes a significant contribution by improving student registration services at RA Plus Rabbani through the implementation of various testing techniques, following the research flow offered by RAD. The study also provides substantial references for further research in web-based system development.

Abstract

Purpose: Cybercrime is the misuse of technology as a tool or medium in committing crimes such as hacking, stealing, deleting, hiding, and destroying information. Cybercriminals tend to delete, hide, and format all the data collected to eliminate traces of digital evidence. In digital forensics, file carving techniques can overcome data loss from storage media. This study aims to determine the results of the file carving process in uncovering digital evidence and evaluating the performance of digital forensic software, including Foremost and Scalpel, based on 3 assessment parameters. Methods: In this investigation, the Digital Forensics Research Workshop (DFRWS) research method is used with the following stages: Identification, Preservation, Collection, Examination, Analysis, and Presentation. Results: Comparison results of the data obtained from Foremost and Scalpel forensic tools are based on three primary parameters including the speed of the recovery process, the number of successfully recovered files, and the identical hash value. The Foremost tool managed to recover the carving files in 1 minute and 3 seconds, showing a success rate of 85% with a hash value similarity rate of 70.59%. On the other hand, Scalpel recovered the carving file in 2 minutes 17 seconds, achieving a success rate of 65% with a hash value similarity rate of 7.69%.Novelty: This data results from the performance of both forensic tool applications in collecting digital evidence from Flash disk storage media.
