Abstract

This study aims to examine the development of a beach edutourism-based practicum model to enhance senior high school students’ science process skills and chemical literacy. The method used in this study is a systematic literature review (SLR) by analyzing scientific articles published between 2016 and 2025. Data were collected from Google Scholar and ScienceDirect using relevant keywords and were selected according to predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results indicate that context-based and environmental learning approaches, such as outdoor learning, project-based learning, and problem-based learning, are effective in enhancing students’ chemical literacy, science process skills, and critical thinking abilities. Furthermore, the use of coastal natural phenomena as learning resources provides more authentic and meaningful learning experiences. In particular, the characteristics of Pink Beach, including its calcium carbonate-rich sand, offer relevant contextual examples for chemistry learning, especially in colloid systems. The beach edutourism-based practicum model enables the integration of chemical concepts with real-life contexts, making learning more relevant and engaging. Therefore, this model has strong potential as an innovative approach in chemistry education to meet the demands of 21st-century learning. Further research is needed to empirically test the effectiveness of this model in real classroom settings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the trends, characteristics, and effectiveness of developing local wisdom-based e-modules in improving students’ scientific literacy and critical thinking skills. The method used was a systematic literature review by examining 15 articles obtained from Google Scholar, ERIC, and DOAJ databases within the 2016–2025 period. The selection process followed the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. Data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach by synthesizing findings based on research methods, study focus, and main results. The findings indicate that most studies employed Research and Development (R&D) and experimental methods. Local wisdom-based e-modules are proven effective in enhancing scientific literacy and critical thinking skills through contextual, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences. The integration of local wisdom makes learning more relevant and increases student engagement. However, most studies still focus on a single aspect of ability and rarely integrate both skills simultaneously. Therefore, further research is needed to develop more innovative and comprehensive e-modules to simultaneously improve scientific literacy and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the misconception profile of prospective physics teachers (respondents) on the material of temperature and heat. This research is quantitative descriptive research. As many as 25 prospective physics teachers as respondents in this study. The research data was taken using a three-tier test instrument in the form of multiple choice questions with open reasons. The results showed that as many as 58.73% of respondents experienced misconceptions and only 30.82% of respondents understood the concept. Most of the misconceptions occur in the concept of thermal equilibrium. As many as 61.90% of respondents experienced misconceptions about this concept. In addition, many misconceptions occur in differentiating the concepts of temperature, heat, and thermal energy. A total of 59.53% of respondents experienced misconceptions about this concept. the average respondent has not understood the substance of the difference between the concepts of temperature, heat, and thermal energy. Many of them equate to the concept of heat and thermal energy of an object. respondents also do not seem to be very able to distinguish the boundaries between the concept of temperature and the concept of thermal energy.
