Abstract

Students will not master mathematics material if they have difficulty in understanding concepts. To understand concepts, literacy skills are needed. Someone who can understand concepts well and is also skilled in mathematics should be sensitive to mathematical concepts related to problems. From this awareness then comes the strategy to formulate the problem in mathematical form and then solve it. Formulating, applying and interpreting are all part of this process. The purpose of this research is to explore the concept of mathematical literacy and analyse the role of mathematical literacy in the 21st century, examining some of the factors that are thought to influence mathematical literacy achievement and mathematical connection skills. The results showed that mathematical literacy can be realised through contextualised learning in achieving the goal of mathematical literacy, teachers must engage students in important activities that help them relate academic lessons to the real-world contexts they face. Mathematical literacy can be realised in learning that is concrete and teachers should teach by linking learning with students’ daily lives by doing contextual learning or doing the Realistic Mathematics Learning movement, both of which are considered good in improving the mathematical literacy skills of elementary school student.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan sebuah produk yang akan digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kelayakan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan media pembelajaran berbantuan web google sitses pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia kelas V di SD Negeri 106811Bandar Setia. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 22 siswa kelas V SD Negeri 106811Bandar setia. Jenis Penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian dan pengembangan atau Reseach and Development (R&D) menggunakan model ADDIE yang memiliki lima tahapan yaitu tahap analisis (analyze), tahap desain (design), tahap pengembangan (development), tahap implementasi (implementation), dan tahap evaluasi (evaluation). Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara, angket validasi materi, angket validasi desain media, angket praktikalitas pendidikan dan soal tes. Hasil penelitian pengembangan media pembelajaran berbantuan web google sites pada materi sistem pencernaan kelas V di SD Negeri 106811 Bandar Setia, pada validasi materi memperoleh nilai presentase 85% dalam kategori “Sangat Layak” sedangkan ahli media memperoleh presentase 90% masuk dalam kategori “Sangat Layak” sehingga media layak untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Pada uji kepraktisan diperoleh dari tanggapan guru melalui angket yang diberikan dengan nilai presentase 94% kategori “Sangat Praktis”. Uji efektivitas melalui pretest dan posttest menunjukkan N-gain rata-rata 68,2%, yang tergolong kategori “efektif”.
