Abstract

The purpose and legal position of the press has two functions, namely: First, the press has become the oldest communication medium in the world. As a provider of communication sources, the press must be able to coexist with other state agencies or institutions. Both press are social institutions as well as political systems. The correlation between the parties cannot be separated from the philosophical and ideological foundations of society according to what they profess. Law is a system created by humans to control and limit human behavior so that it can always be monitored. Quoting Prof. Dissertation. Mahfud MD in the open senate session of Gadjah Mada University, 25 June 1993 he said that, the role and function of law is heavily influenced and often suppressed by the control of political influence. In Indonesia, political configurations are intertwined between democratic and authoritarian political configurations, while the characteristics of legal products follow the pattern of attraction between responsive and conservative products. The principle of democratic political configuration or the principle of authoritarian political configuration refers to three main indicators, namely the party concept and the role of parliamentary or people's representative bodies, domination by the executive branch, and freedom of the press.

Abstract

This article critically examines an effort to conceptualize a relationship aimed at testing the effectiveness of curriculum supervision on teacher performance in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in vocational high schools (SMK). This study integrates various theoretical perspectives from recent literature. The method used is a qualitative approach with case studies in several vocational high schools that have implemented the Merdeka Curriculum. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with principals, supervisors, and teachers who were directly involved in the curriculum implementation process. The findings show that effective curriculum supervision, which involves regular guidance and constructive feedback, has a positive impact on improving teachers' understanding of curriculum materials and their skills in managing competency-based learning. On the other hand, the lack of coordination between supervisors and teachers, as well as limited supervision time, become obstacles to optimizing implementation. In conclusion, planned and continuous curriculum supervision can improve teacher performance in the application of the Merdeka Curriculum. However, stronger support from school management and supervisors is needed to strengthen the effectiveness of curriculum implementation in vocational high schools. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for the development of future educational management models.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Prior Learning Recognition (RPL) program management in improving student competence within the context of higher education. RPL is an innovative approach that acknowledges learners’ prior knowledge, skills, and experiences obtained through formal, non-formal, and informal learning. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design, utilizing data collected through literature review and document analysis. The findings indicate that effective RPL program management significantly contributes to enhancing student competence by accelerating learning pathways, increasing learning motivation, and ensuring the relevance of education to labor market needs. Key factors influencing the success of RPL implementation include institutional commitment, clear assessment standards, qualified assessors, and adequate administrative systems. However, challenges remain, such as limited awareness, inconsistent implementation, and lack of standardized procedures across institutions. Therefore, strengthening management strategies, improving regulatory frameworks, and enhancing institutional capacity are essential to optimize the effectiveness of RPL programs in improving student competence and supporting lifelong learning.
