Abstract

ABSTRACT Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is a nutritional problem for pregnant women that needs more attention. Riskesdas 2018 data shows the prevalence of CED pregnant women aged 15-49 years in Indonesia is 17.3%, in South Sulawesi province by 16.87%, and in Makassar City by 13.02%. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of counseling on nutritional intake and body weight of CED pregnant women in the working area of the Tamalanrea Jaya Health Center in Makassar City. The research design used was pre-experimental with a one group pretest-postest design without a control group. The sample in this study was CED pregnant women who were selected by purposive sampling as many as 10 people with criteria for pregnant women who had an upper arm circumference of <23.5 cm. Nutrient intake data was obtained by the 24-hour recall method and weight data was measured using a digital weight scale. Data analysis in this study used the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that the average nutritional intake of CED pregnant women both energy, protein, fat, and carbohydrates was low (< 60% RDA of pregnant women). The results of the analysis showed no effect of nutritional counseling on the nutritional intake of CED pregnant women, ranging from energy (p = 0.878), protein (p = 0.203), fat (p = 0.575), and carbohydrates (p = 0.508). The provision of counseling has an influence on the weight of pregnant women between before and after nutritional counseling (p = 0.012). The conclusion of this study is that nutritional counseling has not been able to increase nutrient intake until nutritional needs are met, but it can increase the weight of CED pregnant women.

Abstract

Children in Indonesia have a habit of consuming very low fruits and vegetables. Result of Riskesdas in 2018 shows that overall the population of age > 5 years lacked 95,5% of the fruit and vegetables. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of Leaflet media education on increasing knowledge about the benefits of consuming fruit and vegetables in primary school children. This study was a Pre-Experimental Design With One Group Pretest-Posttest Design Carried Out at the Inpres Sudiang Makassar. The samle size in this study was 97 people taken by the total sampling. Variables in the study were knowledge of primary school student before being given an intervention in the form of education through leaflet media and knowledge after intervention. The effect of variables using questionnaires was tested by using the wilcoxon test. The results showed that in SD Inpres Sudiang Makassar, the age was generally 60.8%, the class was generally 27.8%, and the gender was generally 25.8%. The father's occupation was generally private employee (29.9%), while the mother's occupation was generally a housewife (77.3%). The level of knowledge before education was generally good (85.6%), while the level of knowledge after education was generally good (100%). Statistical analysis showed a difference in nutritional knowledge before and after the provision of media leaflet education (p = 0.000). It is recommended for further research, it is expected to be able to develop educational media in accordance with the development of technology so thah it supports interest and reading interest and reading interesr for respondents.

Abstract

Posyandu berperan penting sebagai  tempat kegiatan sosial bagi masyarakat untuk memantau pertumbuhan dan perkembangan. Pemantauan tumbuh kembang anak juga dapat dilaukan di Posyandu melalui pengukuran berat badan bayi setiap bulan yang terjadwal secara rutin dicatat pada sistem Kartu Menuju Sehat (KMS).  Hambatan terhadap kemajuan anak dalam penambahan berat badan terlihat jelas dari kurva pertumbuhan yang diperoleh dari pengukuran rutin yang tercantum dan dicatat dalam KMS.  Peningkatan atau penurunan jumlah anak stunting di bawah usia 5 tahun dapat segera diketahui dalam  waktu singkat (beberapa bulan), dengan cepat mengetahui penyebabnya, dan segera menyusun rencana penanggulangannya. Rumusan masalah nonkomersial ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kader Posyandu dalam mengukur data BB, PB/TB dan menghitung usia berdasarkan presisi dan akurasi guna meningkatkan kualitas skrining stunting. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian  masyarakat adalah team based learning (TBL) dan dukungan eksekutif dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan. Penerimaan materi yang diberikan kepada  peserta dapat dikatakan sama baiknya dengan meningkatnya pengetahuan pengukuran antropometri yang akurat dan tepat di Kelurahan Lajangiru Kecamatan Ujung Pandang, Kota Makassar. Kata kunci: pengetahuan, keterampilan, kader posyandu, screening, stunting
