Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to link environmental concern and the theory of planned behavior to the intention to purchase green products in Indonesia. Purpose: This study aims to link environmental concerns and the theory of planned behavior to the intention to purchase green products. Methodology/approach: This research was conducted from December 2023 to January 2024 with 359 respondents using convenience sampling method. The research object is the purchaser of green products in Indonesia. Data analysis was performed using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). Results/findings: The results show that environmental concern significantly and positively affects green attitudes. Green attitude, green behavior control, and green product awareness all had significant positive effects on green purchase intention. Green attitude mediates the effect of environmental concern on the intention to purchase green products. This study found that subjective green norms do not significantly affect green purchase intentions. Conclusions: In Indonesia, green purchase intention is primarily driven by environmental concern, attitude, control, and awareness, while subjective norms have no effect. Community campaigns are needed to strengthen the social influence of eco-friendly consumption. Limitations: The use of convenience sampling method in data collection may lead to the issue that not all participants represent the general population. Additionally, this study did not specifically focus on the use of environmentally friendly products such as electronics, vehicles, or food. Contribution: This study contributes to the literature on green marketing by enhancing the intention to purchase green products among business owners and policymakers. This will raise public awareness of environmental issues in Indonesia. Additionally, this study does not specifically focus on the use of environmentally friendly products, such as electronics, vehicles, or food. Contribution: The results of this study will provide academic contributions by linking environmental concern with the theory of planned behavior (TPB) approach to explore the psychological factors in explaining the intention to purchase green products. Second, it will contribute to business owners and policymakers in enhancing the intention to purchase green products. Third, it will raise awareness among the general public about environmental issues in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the factors influencing Financial Technology (FinTech) use behavior among Generation Z in Indonesia by analyzing the role of behavioral intention as a mediator and government support as a moderator. Methodology: A quantitative approach was employed using a survey of 433 Generation Z FinTech users in Indonesia. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural-Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. Results: The findings indicate that Attitude, trust, and privacy concerns significantly influenced behavioral intention. In addition, attitude, trust, and behavioral intention significantly affect use behavior, whereas privacy concerns do not directly influence use behavior. Behavioral intention also mediates the relationships between attitude, trust, privacy concerns, and use behavior. Interestingly, government support negatively moderates the relationship between behavioral intention and use behavior, suggesting that stronger external support systems may reduce the dependence of FinTech use on individual intentions alone. Conclusions: Behavioral intention plays an important role in translating psychological factors into actual use behavior. Meanwhile, government support shapes FinTech adoption through external, structural, and institutional support mechanisms. Limitations: This study is limited by the use of a survey method and a limited number of variables, which may not fully represent all factors influencing FinTech use behavior. Contributions: This study contributes to the development of technology acceptance research by integrating psychological and external factors into a single model. The findings also provide practical insights for policymakers and FinTech companies in improving digital financial service adoption among Generation Z.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the influence of the financial inclusion index and the financial development index on economic growth in developing countries. The main focus of this study is to find out whether the expansion of access to finance and the strengthening of the financial sector contribute significantly to the increase in economic activity. This study uses a comparative quantitative approach with panel data covering several developing countries during the period 2015 to 2021. Data was obtained from international institutions such as the World Bank, IMF, and Global Findex. The analysis was carried out by descriptive statistical test methods, correlation tests, and regression panel data using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The results of the study show that financial inclusion, especially from the physical side, such as the number of bank branches, has a significant positive influence on economic growth. In contrast, the financial development index shows a negative influence in some models, indicating that an increase in financial development does not necessarily have a direct impact on growth. These findings emphasize the importance of striking a balance between inclusion and strengthening financial institutions. Further research is recommended to explore the institutional and governance factors that mediate the relationship between the financial sector and economic growth.
