Abstract

Road transport system that has not been effective, resulting in some people prefer a type of mode for transport was motorcycle, the motorcycle is viewed as having advantages in terms of mobility, accesibilitas, and economically, so that the proportion of motorcycles on the road now reaches 6554. Changes in road transportation system due to the high number of users of motorcycles and behavior has. If not treated, trasnsportation system of roads and accidents will be worse. In this paper, we want to give the effect of the number of motorcycles on the road to the speed of vehicles that can be developed by the driver, and also model the relationship as one of alternative answers in determining the proportion of motorcycles on the streets. Relationship variables that are intended, obtained fiom traffic counting amount of each type of vehicle andits speed in each range of time-per-five-minutes, the data is grouped in intervals poroporsi number of motorcycles thatis, condition 1 : 1046 up to 3550, condition 2 : 3540 s/d 7546, and 3 conditions: a merger. Regression analysis method showed there was a positive and significant correlation coefficients with the indicator for the condition I of'0.67, the condition 2 of 0.59, and 0.66 for condition 3. It means that the number of motorcycle affect traffic flow velocity fluctuations. Abstract

Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (IHCM), 1997, as a manual for the analysis, design planning and operations ofroad traffic facilities is a research product that was conducted empirically by considering various traffic characteristics representing traffic condisions in Indonesian area, the resulted value of analysis parameters is not absolute, but changeable depending on time and locations. Since it was published, transportation infrastructure and road user conditions experience lots of changes in terms of both quantity and quality, resulting in outdated analysis parameters of traffic and road infrastructure conditions.Those outdated analysis parameters can cause over-designs or under- designs in road technical design products. A series of actions and corrections has to be formulated on IHCM 1997 by identifying parameter problems as one of the factors that forms the traffic charactristics and road performance including analysing the present regulations. In general, the problems tend to lead to the necessity of updating the manual by conducting a consensus to stadardize it in user- friendly formatted. Abstract

Engineering development and the paradigm of truck operators, who consider that transportation efficiency can be means trucks can carry goods as many as possible in one single trip, can change the engineering characteristics of vehicles, including form, dimension, and vehicle ability increasing speed, and load capacity. The changes in engineering parameters of the operating vehicle will affect the road design parameters in the road design specification. As a result, the road design produced is not optimum, as required by the need to accommodate vehicle’s movement and load, because it can be over or under design, which finally affect the vehicle speed and possibility of the accident occurrence. In this study, the design parameters contributed by operating traffic are compared with those in the existing technical guidance. The results show that there is a significant difference in those parameters, particularly for trucks with three axles. Keyword : Design parameter, Road destroyer factor, overloading.

Abstract

As a result of development and in line with the recent progress of technology, transportation sector is indicating the increase in number and changing in vehicle characteristic. The vehicle characteristic is changing vary from shape, dimension, and capacity. The change of those technical vehicle element, will influence geometric planning parameter of roadway which have been established in Bina Marga Guidance Of Road and Street Geometry Planning Procedures (1997). With those tendencies mentioned, technical design of yielded road and geometry cannot fulfill requirement of design vehicle traffic movements, resulting in traffic obstructions and accident possibilities. How far is the differencial gap between dimensional technical elements of designed vehicle, contained in the guidance and the actual operational vehicles. This study describes the research result, which indicates the existence of significant shifting in front and rear overhang length of truck and buses. Abstract

On street parking at this time can not be avoid yet, on the other hand the existence of parking will affect traffic performance, how far the trouble can be happened. With apparatus of analysis operational traffic performance can be determined using some performance variable like speed, volume, and capacities. Intention of this research is to look for relationship between speeds of vehicle with degree of saturation. This relationship can benefit to all planner in specifying location criterion traffic performance that happened can be estimated by configuration form of on street parking. However, a further research still need a continuation development, mainly concerning with road type and amount of samples. Especially the result of this research can produce an alternative approach for planning an on street parking.

Abstract

Track of traffic flow crossing an uncontrolled T junction creates some conflict points and potentially as traffic accident site. This condition caused the maneuver of vehicles whereas crossing, merging and diverging conflict. Merging vehicle to mainstream vehicle run in a queue need a sufficient distance of gap in order to joint safely. The judgment of accepting or re fusing a distance of gap mostly depend on the decision of the driver which is not according to the priority and by forcing. This situation where as the angle form by the merging vehicle is smaller than 30 degrees will mostly accept by the driver than greater than 30 degrees. This has been proved according the result of empirical research carried out in several road links which type is 4 lanes, 2 direction. Merging with angle smaller than 30 degrees can be accepted if the exit road from the junction has been provided with taper or weaving section.

Abstract

Belum berfungsinya infrastruktur (jaringan jalan) secara optimal mengakibatkan kegiatan transportasi jalan sering harus berhadapan dengan kemacetan dan kecelakaan. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah konflik lalu lintas di titik-titik persimpangan, dimana titik persimpangan tersebut diindetifikasikan terutama berlokasi pada jalan yang berfungsi arteri perkotaan dengan akses jalan. Akses jalan baru pada jalan berfungsi aarteri perkotaan dewasa ini cenderung makin banyak dan tidak terkendali dengan mengabaikan aspek teknis dan peran/hirarki jalan itu. Di lain fihak ketentuan/kriteria perencanaan alur jalan secara terukur terutama untuk jarak antara akses jalan memeang belum ada. Pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian in adalah berdasarkan hipotesa bahwa kinerja jalan memiliki korelasi dengan jarak antara akses. Dari analisis dan identifikasi data yang ada serta mengaplikasikan metoda rehersi linier diperoleh bentuk yang lebih nyata dari hubungan korelasi antara jarak akses dengan kinerja jalan, sehingga untuk selanjutnya dapat digunakan sebagai model perkiraan penentuan jarak antara akses. Parameter tersebut selanjutya dapat digunakan untuk masukan dalam penyempurnaan manual perencanaan geometik dan sistem jarinngan jalan perkotaan.

Abstract

Kondisi aliran lalu lintas di perkotaan cenderung terganggu (interrupted flow), karena lalu lintas akan berinteraksi dengan lingkungan (tata guna lahan), prasarana transportasi, dan lalu lintas itu sendiri, makin tinggi intensitas kegiatan tata guna lahan akan makin tinggi pula hambatan samping yang ditimulkan, tentunya apabila tidak ditata dengan baik. Dampak dari hambatan samping berakibat pada menurunnya tingkat kinerja jalan (kemacetan), dan mungkin terjadinya kcelakaan yang melibatkan pejalan kaki dan kendaraan. Kemacetan di ruas jalan yang cenderung diakibatkan oleh faktor hambatan samping yang tinggi, makin menyebar dan merata keseluruhan ruas jalan perkotaan. Pemecahan melalui manajemen lalu lintas yang bersifat lokal memNg diperlukan sebagai upaya dalam menangani faktor hambatan samping, sebagai alternatif pemecaan dengan batasan-batasan tertentu (waktu dan biaya). Sala satu upaya dalam mengurangi faktor hambatan samping adalah dengan memberi fasilitas prasarana jalan berupa pembatas antara jalur pejalan kaki dengan jalur lalu lintas. Dalam studi ini mengidikasikan adanya harapan bawah fasilits prasarana jalan berupa pembatas dapat menngkatkan kinerja jalan (kecepatan aliran lalu lintas).
