Abstract

The development of the curriculum in Islamic boarding schools is currently experiencing significant developments. In the past, the curriculum at Islamic boarding schools only focused on religious issues, and considered learning there to be old-fashioned, but now the development has shifted from traditional revivalism to exploring it by combining several curricula, in this case Islamic boarding schools are responsive to changing times. Therefore, this discussion focuses on curriculum developments that occur in educational institutions around us with increasingly developing conditions, especially in Islamic boarding schools. The research method uses library research or literature study with a descriptive qualitative research approach. Meanwhile, the data collection technique here refers to literature study by analyzing books, research journals, literature notes, internet sites and so on related to the theme being studied. The findings show that the curriculum development process in Islamic boarding schools needs to implement curriculum integration such as that found in the Nurul Ummah Mojokerto modern Islamic boarding school which implements several curricula such as combining the international standard Madrasah Aliyah formal curriculum and the Egyptian Al-Azhar standard Madrasah Diniyah curriculum and the hidden curriculum. such as student extracurricular activities. Curriculum development here still adheres to the principles and goals to be achieved. This is done so that students can determine their interests and talents well. Seeing the very rapid development of the times, educational institutions such as Islamic boarding schools, which are considered ancient institutions, must develop and always improve their curriculum system to be better.

Abstract

Quality in Islamic education focuses on the process and results of education, in the process of quality education involves various inputs. Quality education inputs are quality teachers, quality students, and various aspects of quality education. However, there are also failures in the quality of education caused by the wrong management of the institution. To overcome this failure in the quality of education, several educational institutions have implemented Total Quality Management. The application of TQM refers to the development of superior class programs and the image of the madrasa, because these 2 aspects must be developed within the institution. This study aims to determine the concept of planning and implementing TQM in developing superior class programs and madrasa image at MTs Mambaus Sholihin Gresik, and supporting factors and inhibiting factors in implementing TQM at MTs Mambaus Sholihin. This research method is descriptive qualitative. Done by taking steps to collect information or collect classification data, analyze data, make conclusions and reports. The results showed that TQM planning was carried out by formulating the vision, mission, and goals of the madrasa, planning several special activity programs for superior classes. Also commitment and good cooperation between the madrasah. Implementation of TQM with innovations implemented through a madrasa program as well as the head of the madrasa as a top leader and positive perspectives or responses from madrasa customers. Supporting factors here include a strategic madrasa environment, superior human resources, adequate infrastructure, and others. While the inhibiting factors are the absence of support from the external environment, and a solid program of activities. Abstrak Mutu pendidikan Islam terfokus pada proses dan hasil pendidikan, dalam proses tersebutterdapat berbagai input. Input pendidikan yang bermutu adalah tenaga pendidik, peserta didik, dan berbagai aspek penyelenggaraan pendidikan yang bermutu. Namun, terdapat pula kegagalan mutu pendidikan yang diakibatkan oleh manajemen lembaga yang salah. Untuk mengatasi kegagalan mutu pendidikan ini, maka beberapa lembaga pendidikan menerapkan Total Quality Management. Penerapan TQM ini mengacu pada pengembangan program kelas unggulan dan citra madrasah, karena 2 aspek ini harus dikembangkan dalam lembaga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsep perencanaan dan implementasi TQM dalam mengembangkan program kelas unggulan dan citra madrasahdi MTs Mambaus Sholihin Gresik, dan faktor pendukung dan faktor penghambat dalam implementasi TQM di MTs Mambaus Sholihin. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hal inidilakukan dengan mengambil langkah-langkah untuk mengumpulkan informasi ataumengumpulkan data klasifikasi, analisis data, interpretasi, kesimpulan dan pelaporan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan TQM ini dilakukan dengan perumusan visi, misi, dan tujuan madrasah, merencanakan beberapa program kegiatan khusus untuk kelas unggulan. Juga komitmen dan kerjasama yang baik antar pihak madrasah. Implementasi TQM dengan adanya inovasi yang diimplementasikan melalui suatu program madrasah juga kepala madrasah sebagai top leaderdan perspektif atau tanggapan positif dari pelanggan madrasah. Faktor pendukung disini meliputi lingkungan madrasah yang strategis, sumber daya manusia yang unggul, sarana prasarana yang memadai, dan lain-lain. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya yaitu tidak ada dukungan dari lingkungan eksternal, dan program kegiatan yang padat.
