Abstract

This study aims to improve PAI learning outcomes on the theme of Sincerity, Patience and Forgiving by using the snowball throwing method in class VII of Mamiyai Al-Itihadiyah Private Junior High School Medan. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this study were grade VII students at Mamiyai Al-Itihadiyah Private Junior High School in Medan, totaling 21 students. The data collection techniques used are tests of student learning outcomes, student observation, and teacher observation. The pre-cycle results of students who achieved standard scores were 1 student and those who had not reached standard scores were 20 students with a grade point average of 41%. The learning outcomes of students who achieved standard scores in the first cycle were 10 students and those who had not reached standard scores were 11 students with a total presenatse score of 79%. The learning outcomes of students who achieved standard scores in cycle II were 15 students and those who had not reached standard scores were 6 students with a total presenatse score of 81%. These results prove that the use of the snowball throwing method can improve the learning outcomes of PAI class VII on the theme of Sincerity, Patience and Forgiving at Mamiyai Al-Itihadiyah Private Junior High School in Medan City.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the efforts of PAI teachers in empowering underachiever students at SMP Negeri 6 Kisaran, focusing on the characteristics of underachievers, causative factors, and efforts of PAI teachers in empowering underachiever students. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach. The results of the study show that underachiever students initially have good learning abilities but their achievement decreases due to lack of motivation. The causative factors consist of internal (physical and spiritual) and external (family and school environment) factors, with lack of parental attention and support as the main cause. PAI teachers' efforts include guidance, motivation, and cooperation with BK teachers and homeroom teachers, as well as involving parents to pay attention to their children's learning at home, so that underachiever students are expected to improve their achievements. This research is expected to encourage attention from various parties, not only focusing on BK teachers and homeroom teachers, but covering all aspects related to students' concerns.Keywords: PAI Teachers, Student Empowerment, Underachiever. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui upaya guru PAI dalam pemberdayaan peserta didik underachiever di SMP Negeri 6 Kisaran, dengan fokus pada karakteristik underachiever, faktor penyebab, serta upaya guru PAI dalam pemberdayaan peserta didik underachiever. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik underachiever memiliki karakteristik dimana kemampuan belajar yang baik namun prestasinya menurun karena kurangnya motivasi. Faktor penyebabnya terdiri dari faktor internal (jasmani dan rohani) dan eksternal (lingkungan keluarga dan sekolah), dengan kurangnya perhatian dan dukungan orang tua sebagai penyebab utama. Upaya guru PAI meliputi bimbingan, motivasi, serta kerja sama dengan guru BK dan wali kelas, juga melibatkan orang tua untuk memperhatikan belajar anak di rumah, sehingga diharapkan peserta didik underachiever dapat meningkatkan prestasinya. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat mendorong perhatian dari berbagai pihak, tidak hanya terfokus pada guru BK dan wali kelas, tetapi mencakup seluruh aspek terkait dilungkungan peserta didik.Kata kunci: Guru PAI, Pemberdayaan peserta didik, Underachiever
