Abstract

Bahasan sistem migas pada makalah ini dikhususkan pada pembicaraan mengenai keberadaan batuan induk, batuan waduk, batuan tudung atau penutup, serta perangkap hidrokarbon. Dikenal beberapa macam batuan induk di Cekungan Timor, yaitu serpih hitam dari Formasi Atahoc, Formasi Cribas, dan Formasi Wailuli. Analisis geokimia ataupun petrologi organik menunjukkan bahwa serpih hitam dari ketiga formasi tersebut masuk dalam klasifikasi sangat baik, dan merupakan kerogen tipe III. Berdasarkan analisis petrografi, SEM dan porositas maka yang berpeluang menjadi batuan waduk adalah batupasir dari Formasi Cribas, Formasi Babulu dan Formasi Oebaat, serta batugamping Formasi Aitutu. Sementara berdasar data petrografi dan SEM maka sepih Formasi Cribas dan Nakfunu berpotensi menjadi batuan penutup. Perangkap struktur yang berkembang adalah struktur bunga positif, antiklin landai, antiklin tersesar naikkan, dan graben. Sedangkan perangkap stratigrafi dapat berupa lensa-lensa batupasir dan lapisan batugamping.Kata kunci: Sistem migas, Cekungan Timor, batuan induk, batuan waduk, batuan penutup dan perangkap hidrokarbon.

Abstract

Microfacies and diagenesis of limestones from the Nakfunu Formation have been studied to tracing the depositional mechanism and post depositional geological histories of the rocks. Limestone samples randomly taken from the field on the Cretaceous rock formation, for petrographic analysis. Petrogrtaphic analysis of the fourty two limestone samples showing that the type of the limestones are packstone, wackestone, and mudstone. The depositional environments of this formation are include basin margin, open sea shelf near the lower slope, and deep sea basin with slow sedimentation. The limestones have affected by various kinds of diagenetic proccesses post-sedimentation. The diagenetic procceses recorded under the polarization microscope as: cementation, replacement, silicification, recrystallization, dolomitization, compaction, fracturing, and dissolution.Keywords: Cretaceous, limestone, petrography, microfacies, diagenesis.

Abstract

Microfacies and diagenetic aspects of limestones in the South Central Timor, East Nusa Tenggara have studied to investigate the deposition mechanism of the rocks and history of geological process after the rocks deposition. The cropped out of limestones in the research area includes into four rock units, are Aitutu Formation from Triassic, Nakfunu Formation from Early Cretaceous, Menu Formation from Late Cretaceous, and Ofu Formation from Paleogene. Limestone petrography analysis have been done on eighteen samples from the Aitutu Formation, fourty two samples from the Nakfunu Formation, nineteen samples from the Menu Formation, and seven samples from the Ofu Formation. Based on the study of limestones mikrofasies and diagenesis that has been done, proved are the fourth formation could be act as a source and reservoir for hydrocarbon. Keywords: Limestone, petrography, microfacies, diagenetic, hydrocarbon
