Abstract

The waste produced by oranges is orange peel which is still abundant, so making aromatherapy candles can have a good effect on the environment. This research aims to analyze the feasibility of a project to produce aromatherapy candles from aetheric oils on a large scale. Evaluation from an engineering perspective is determined by the evaluation of the initial factory design and stoichiometric calculations. Meanwhile, the evaluation from an economic perspective is determined by several parameters, such as Payback Period, Gross Profit Margin, Cumulative Net Present Value, etc. Based on the results of the analysis, the aromatherapy candle production project from aetheric oil can be scaled to industrial level and demonstrate a profitable project from a technical and economic perspective. This project also helps waste from sweet oranges (citrus sinensis), so that it can have a good effect on the environment and reduce accumulated waste. Based on this, this project is an innovative project so that it can compete with market standards. From the results of the economic evaluation analysis it can be concluded that this project is feasible to carry out.

Abstract

Nanomedicine is a drug that has a size in the range of 1 – 100 nm. Nano-sized drugs can be applied as drug delivery agents by encapsulating or binding the active substance which then delivers the active substance to controlled tissue. Parkinson's disease is a disease caused by the loss of dopaminergic cells in the midbrain, so the treatment of Parkinson's disease is to provide increased dopamine concentrations or stimulate dopamine receptors. This research aims to map research regarding the application of nanomedicine to Parkinson's disease from the aspects of researchers, publishers and citations. This research uses bibliometric analysis methods, the Publish or Perish search engine to search for data, and the VOSviewer application as a data mapping application. The time range used starts from 2017 to 2022, resulting in data for 284 articles. The results of this research found that the development of research regarding the application of nanomedicine to Parkinson's disease increases in publications every year, based on the highest number of citations with more than 100 citations consisting of 20 articles from various publisher sources. Meanwhile, in the co-occurrence analysis using VOSviewer, it was shown that in the network visualization the keywords that frequently appeared were "Parkinson", "field", and "Nanotechnology". In the overlay visualization the keywords "Parkinson's" and "nanomedicine" are not articles that discuss the most recent research. However, if you look at the topic density in "Nanomedicine" it is still small. This can help researchers determine the topic to be researched and can also be a reference for research related to the application of nanomedicine to Parkinson's disease.

Abstract

Pada penelitian ini dilakukan perancangan dan analisis reaktor batch produksi gliserol kasar dari minyak jelantah sebagai bahan baku pembuatan lilin. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan analisis komputasi dan perhitungan reaktor, pengaduk dan keseimbangan massa menggunakan aplikasi Microsoft Excel. Pembuatan gliserol kasar tersebut diharapkan dapat ditingkatkan skalanya pada skala pabrik sehingga diperlukan tempat untuk mereaksikan bahan baku pembuatan gliserol kasar tersebut. Berdasarkan perhitungan spesifikasi reaktor batch dan agitator untuk produksi gliserol kasar pada skala industri (4.500 kali lebih besar dari skala lab), diperlukan spesifikasi volume sebesar 49.6824 ft3 dengan tinggi 2.0321 ft dan satu buah agitator dengan daya 1300. Hp ditentukan. Perhitungan dilakukan dengan menggunakan Microsoft Excel tanpa mempertimbangkan faktor efektivitas. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dapat disimpulkan bahwa desain dan analisis kinerja reaktor dapat diterapkan.
