Abstract

The lacto-ovo vegetarian diet (VLO) is a diet consisting of plant-based foods such as vegetables, fruit and accompanied by the consumption of eggs and milk. There are many benefits of this diet, such as maintaining blood glucose levels, body fat levels, body weight, body mass index, pancreatic beta cell performance which can maintain normal blood glucose levels. This research was conducted at the Ekayana Arama Temple in West Jakarta and the Mahayana Temple which is located in Central Jakarta. The method for this research is descriptive research with cross sectional study using purposive sampling method. The results of the study consisted of 19 men and 12 women with 21 years as the youngest age and the oldest age is 77 years. The conclusion of this study is that the hypothesis is accepted, the lacto-ovo vegetarian diet can maintain blood glucose levels remain normal, mean 115.84 mg/dL with a minimum value of 82 mg/dL and 164 mg/dL as the maximum value.

Abstract

Body mass index (BMI) data from RISKESDAS shows that many women of childbearing age in Indonesia experience BMI problems and there are also several studies showing a significant relationship between BMI and the menstrual cycle. FKIK UKRIDA students with analytic research type and crosssectional design. From the data collection, there were 86 subjects from affordable populations who had been filtered according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria and the distribution of BMI data with menstrual cycles, namely there were no thin and normal BMI subjects who had oligomenorrhea, while the fat ones who experienced oligomenorrhea were 1.2%, for thin BMI with normal menstrual cycles there were 16.3%, normal BMI with normal menstrual cycles were 52.3%, and obese BMI with normal menstrual cycles were 24.4%. Meanwhile, thin BMI with polymenorrhea was 1.2% and there were no normal BMI subjects who had polymenorrhea, but in obese BMI with polymenorrhea there was 4.7%, in data analysis using Fisher's test there was P value = 0.010. Conclusion: there is a significant relationship between BMI and the menstrual cycle of FKIK UKRIDA students with P value = 0.010.

Abstract

Fluid is beneficial for improving cognitive, maintaining concentration, and maintaining body physiology especially for students. This study aims to have knowledge, attitude, and behaviors about fluid consumption among students in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Krida Wacana Christian University 2019. This research design is descriptive cross sectional by using purposive sampling method to acquire subjects. The research subjects include 97 students who were qualified based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The inclusion criteria were active PSKed batch 2019 students. The exclusion criteria students who have renal disease, fasting, consuming drugs, vitamins, or food that affects urine color. The results were categorized as good if the questionnaire percentage were 76-100%, 56-76% mediocre, and less than 56%. The results showed that most students had good knowledge about fluid consumption 81,4% while 18,6% were categorized in a mediocre group. There were no students with less knowledge. Regarding attitude towards fluid consumption, the categories were good, mediocre, and less, there were 27,8%, 71,1% and 1%. Regarding the behaviors, there were good and mediocre groups, there were 91,8% and 8,2%. In this study, the students’ knowledge and behavior about fluid consumption were very good, however, very lacking in attitude towards fluid consumption.
