This study discusses the Simalungun oral tradition, namely the Taur-taur Simalungun which began to be abandoned so that it was at the point of extinction because it was abandoned by some users of the oral tradition. One way to overcome this is to document the simalungun oral tradition. This research provides a solution to protect the oral tradition of the Taur-taur Simalungun from extinction. Taur-taur Simalungun is an oral tradition of the Simalungun community in the form of poetry and rhymes and contains stories, advice and satire. The aims of this study were (1) to describe the performance of the Taur-taur Simalungun oral tradition, (2) to evaluate the value content contained in the Taur-taur Simalungun oral tradition, and (3) to find a revitalization model for the Taur-taur Simalungun oral tradition. The Taur-taur Simalungun oral tradition that can be passed down from generation to generation.. The method used is an ethnographic method which includes in-depth interviews and participant observation. By conducting in-depth interviews and participatory observations, the pattern of using the Simalungun language itself will be obtained. Research data in the form of audio recordings, videos, interviews and observations. The results showed that through an anthropolinguistic approach as a whole (text, co-text and context), the oral tradition of the Taur-taur Simalungun can be maintained by documenting the oral tradition in audio-video form, in written format, as well as by developing local content subject matter at school.

The objective of this study is to investigate efficient methods for improving the English-speaking abilities of Thai students, implemented by non-Thai pre-service instructors. Additionally, this research attempts to identify and overcome any potential challenges that may develop throughout the teaching process. The study used a qualitative technique and descriptive case study design to examine data collected from in-depth interviews and questionnaires. The findings indicate that non-Thai pre-service teachers employ many successful ways to enhance the English-speaking abilities of Thai students. Nevertheless, obstacles like language and cultural barriers continue to be significant issues. This research also emphasizes the significance of hands-on experience in negotiating these challenges. However, there is a need for more improvement in institutional support in order to boost teacher effectiveness and improve student results. The study's implications are to facilitate cross-cultural education and enhance educational advancement in Thailand's linguistically varied setting.

A well-structured composition must be both coherent and cohesive, enabling arguments to flow logically and ensuring clarity for readers. Yet, this critical aspect of academic writing is often overlooked, particularly in the thesis abstracts of EFL college students. Thus, this study investigates how cohesive and coherent mechanisms are employed to construct logical arguments in student-written thesis abstracts. By applying qualitative content analysis, the research examined patterns of cohesive ties and their contribution to overall textual coherence. The data employed for this research were ten theses abstracts accessed publicly from the universities’ official repositories. The findings indicate that cohesive devices play a crucial role in shaping coherence, with greater cohesion typically resulting in stronger logical connections within the text. Transition markers, which establish semantic links between clauses and sentences, emerged as the most influential indicators of coherence. These markers guided readers through the arguments and ensured a more unified presentation of ideas. The results suggest that the effective use of cohesive and coherent strategies not only improves the clarity of thesis abstracts but also enhances their academic quality. This highlights the pedagogical need to integrate explicit instruction on cohesion and coherence into EFL writing courses. By fostering students’ awareness and mastery of these devices, educators can support the development of more precise, persuasive, and professional academic writing. Ultimately, improving these skills can raise the standard of student theses and contribute to higher levels of scholarly communication.
